The casual seniors of the Entourloop take a ride on this side of the Atlantic before paying the Olympia in Paris, in the fall, to present their third album, Clarity in Confusion (2022). “Viciously effective” (Nova, 2023).

Queen Omega & The Royal Souls

«True icon of Reggae-Dancehall» (RFI, 2023), Queen Omega draws its energy and humanity from the Rastafari movement. The one who fights against all forms of oppression, advocating in particular the liberation of women and the independence of peoples, made a great return in 2023 with the album Freedom Legacy. His undeniable stage presence and his incredibly rich voice give him a strong aura as much as his riddims with multiple influences, both New roots, New soul, Afrobeat and Dancehall.”

Hippie Sabotage at the MTELUS

Formed by brothers Kevin and Jeff Saurer, Sacramento-based electronic music duo Hippie Sabotage began creating their hip-hop instrumentals in the mid-2000s. Working closely with local producer Chase Moore early in their career, they blended the vibes of their hometown’s cultural melting pot with hip-hop and produced beats for rappers such as J. Leake and Yukmouth. They went on to collaborate with Chicago artists such as Calez of 2008ighties and Kami de Chukwu. Hippie Sabotage developed and expanded their beats and quickly incorporated more diverse influences into their tracks for a whole new crop of rappers such as Alex Wiley (“Something to Say”) and C Plus (“Callin’ Me”).

Formé par les frères Kevin et Jeff Saurer, le duo de musique électronique Hippie Sabotage, basé à Sacramento, a commencé à créer ses instrumentaux hip-hop au milieu des années 2000. Since Moussolou, her first album released in 1989, the life of Malian singer Oumou Sangaré has known no respite. From this rich and hectic journey we can recall some of the most decisive recordings in contemporary African music, all produced by the World Circuit label: Ko Sira in 1993, Worotan in 1996 and Seya, nominated for Best World Music Album at the 2009 Grammy Awards. Numerous international tours and acclaim on prestigious stages such as the Sydney Opera House, London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall and Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan complete this list of honors. Timbuktu, the first production on her Oumsang label, is the latest act in this unparalleled musical epic, with which World Circuit is once again associated. It consecrates this artist from the slums of Bamako who has become a global superstar, as well as a universally admired feminist icon. With a powerful aura comparable to that of Grace Jones, the transgressive black icon par excellence, Oumou has long since crossed the barriers separating musical genres and continents. Yesterday invited by Alicia Keys for a televised duet, she is now cited as an example by artists as considerable as Aya Nakamura, who dedicated the song Oumou Sangaré to her in 2017, or Beyoncé, who sampled one of her most famous creations, Diaraby Néné, for the track Mood 4 Eva from the soundtrack of the film The Lion King: The Gift in 2019.

Depuis Moussolou, son premier album sorti en 1989, la vie de la chanteuse malienne Oumou Sangaré n’a connu aucun répit. Fièrement originaire de Maniwaki (QC), Matt Lang a toujours voulu amener Nashville au Québec. Au printemps 2018, Matt se rendait à Nashville pour enregistrer son premier album en anglais et, à l’époque, il ne parlait pas un mot d’anglais. Produit par Danick Dupelle, un producteur québécois qui vit à Nashville depuis près de 18 ans et membre du populaire groupe Emerson Drive, l’album s’est rapidement hissé au premier rang du palmarès national des albums country d’iTunes pendant plusieurs semaines au début de 2019. L’EP, qui comprend les populaires titres ‘Love Me Some You’ et ‘My Final Pour’, s’est brillamment comporté sur les plateformes de streaming, avec un total de streams dépassant les 10 millions à ce jour.

Proudly from Maniwaki (QC), Matt Lang has always wanted to bring Nashville to Québec. In the spring of 2018, Matt was on his way to Nashville to record his first English-language album, and at that time, he didn’t speak a word of English. THE DRIVER ERA est un groupe pop/rock exubérant composé de deux anciens membres du groupe R5 : le chanteur/acteur Ross Lynch et son frère, le multi-instrumentiste/producteur Rocky Lynch. Mis en avant par le tube alternatif “Preacher Man”, le duo a fait ses débuts sur un grand label avec X en 2019. Composant, produisant et enregistrant eux-mêmes leur musique, à l’exception de “Preacher Man”, ils ont suivi la voie indépendante pour sortir leur troisième album, 2022’s Summer Mixtape, suivi de 2023’s “Rumors”.

BoyWithUke at MTELUS

Based out of Massachusetts, BoyWithUke is an anonymous singer, songwriter, and producer armed with a ukulele and plenty of pop smarts. Inspired by the likes of Twenty One Pilots, Milky Chance, and Dominic Fike, little is known about the social media star, who uses an opaque face shield adorned with LED eyes to conceal his identity. Producing all of his songs himself at home on his media tablet, BoyWithUke’s confessional, lo-fi pop songs combine his trusty uke with pitched vocal harmonies and electronic beats.

Basé dans le Massachusetts, BoyWithUke est un chanteur, auteur-compositeur et producteur anonyme armé d’un ukulélé et de beaucoup d’intelligence pop. Inspiré par des artistes comme Twenty One Pilots, Milky Chance et Dominic Fike, on sait peu de choses sur cette star des médias sociaux, qui utilise un masque opaque orné d’yeux LED pour dissimuler son identité. Produisant lui-même toutes ses chansons à la maison sur sa tablette multimédia, BoyWithUke propose des chansons pop confessionnelles et lo-fi qui combinent son fidèle uke avec des harmonies vocales et des rythmes électroniques.

In February and March 2024, the Grammy award-winning brothers Damian “Jr Gong” Marley and Stephen “Ragga” Marley will launch their exclusive Traffic Jam Tour across North America. This marks the inaugural occasion in history when the brothers have jointly presented a curated set, offering a unique showcase to their fans. The 18-date tour begins February 16 and features 15 dates produced by Live Nation, with stops including Las Vegas, NV; Seattle, WA; Vancouver, BC; Boston, MA; Brooklyn, NY; Toronto, ON; and more before concluding at Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL, on March 30. Additionally, three festival dates complete the outing including CaliVibes Fest, Lake Tahoe Reggae Festival, and Reggae Rise Up Florida.

The seamless performance will feature a special curated set list of both brothers’ catalogs and a medley of their father Bob Marley’s classics. Damian and Stephen Marley have written and performed a multitude of singles together over the last two decades – including the most recent collaboration, “Cast The First Stone” from Stephen Marley’s new LP Old Soul. The brothers wrote/produced/performed on the anthemic Grammy-winning reggae classic “Welcome To Jamrock,” in addition to timeless compositions like “Medication,” “Grown & Sexy,” “All Night,” “It Was Written,” and, of course, “Traffic Jam.”
