It’s the return of the “Veille de l’avant-veille” at Club Soda on December 30th. Following the success of the virtual edition in 2020, people from all over Quebec will still be able to celebrate in the comfort of their homes! In addition, the joy will be extended with the broadcasting of this show on the airwaves of some twenty radio stations on December 31 and January 1.
The event, conducted annually by Le Vent du Nord, will be in its 24th year. The MC will be Normand Miron. Trio É.T.É, which offers traditional music with jazz, rock and classical influences, will also offer a very energetic performance!
“Calleur” Ghislain Jutras will then invite the crowd to dance, a long-awaited moment that will warm the hearts! Musicians David Boulanger, Marie-Pierre Lecault, Mathieu Gallant and Carmen Guérard will liven up this final with songs from the album “Les sessions du Vices & Versa – 15e anniversaire” released last April.

Two years after Contrôle, MC Lary Kidd released Surhomme, 12 pieces of his own with a plethora of bricolage beats concocted in concert with his buddies Ruffsound and Ajust. So life goes on, Lary Kidd continues his career without Loud, former teammate and close friend who has of course become a keb rap superstar. Less painful and tortured than the poetic material on Contrôle, Surhomme is stuffed with double entendres and metaphorical punch. His thoughts and observations are gathered from the trials and tribulations of everyday life. The trivialization of his own misery has made him stronger, more resistant, even almost unfeeling… hence the choice of the word “superman”. Will he fly over the Club Soda stage?
Winner of the Francouvertes in 2018, La F has established itself among the rising forces of keb rap. We can expect a big year in 2020 promises to be a bif year for this Montreal band, and La F has several surprises in store for us in the near future. For starters, Thibault de Castelbajac (Jah Maaz), Thomas Thivierge (Mantisse) and Justin Boisclair (Bkay) launch their album Citadelle on the 7ième Ciel label, an opus concocted with help from beatmakers Oclaz, BLVDR and Bnjmn.Lloyd.
Like the 51tr4p Fr4p50 mixtape, Tizzo’s song “On fouette” was released in the spring of 2018, and won a SOCAN award in June 2019. The expression on fouette, by the way, magnifies the ambitions of Tizzo and his Afro-Montreal buddies, who didn’t have it easy before making a name for themselves in local hip hop. All involved in the crafting of this authentic jam, Tizzo (Teddy Laguerre), Shreez (Shawn Volcy), Soft (Marc Casseus) and 4590’z (Vladimir Methelus) were joint winners of the SOCAN prize. The fast and assured ascent of Tizzo and his gang has just begun, and the next step is scheduled to take place at Club Soda, as part of the Run It Fest event. Tizzo, Shreez and Soft will be on stage, along with other colleagues from the keb rap community — Kay Bandz, Soubillz, TK, Mike Shabb, Kevin Na$h, and DJ Crowd.
