Rumba congolaise et soukous sont au rendez-vous avec Blaise Labamba. Né au Congo-Kinshasa, alors encore appelé Zaïre, d’un père pianiste et d’une mère choriste. Grandissant dans un monde où la musique africaine est en pleine effervescence, Blaise Labamba s’initie au piano, à la guitare et aux percussions.

En 1990, il monte son premier groupe dans son quartier, Tout-Chic-Gombe. Entre 1993 et 1995, Blaise suit des études de musique à l’Institut National des Arts à Kinshasa, puis il entre dans le groupe d’une des stars congolaises de l’époque, le Big Star du général Defao. Commence alors une succession de tournées internationales. Blaise joue avec de grands noms de la musique africaine et sillonne le continent.

En 1999, il s’installe à Montréal et prend sa place sur le territoire canadien en accompagnant divers groupes sur scène. Avec des centaines de concerts au compteur, Blaise Labamba se lance en solo depuis 2009.

En 2018, il crée un groupe qu’il nomme Kotakoli, avec lequel il affirme ses goûts et ses envies, tout en mélangeant avec talent la rumba zouk congolaise et le soukous, avec une énergie flamboyante. Comme dans son album live Personnalité, ne manquez pas ce maître de la danse congolaise, dans l’art et la manière de Kinshasa!

Congolese rumba and soukous are on the agenda with Blaise Labamba. Born in Congo-Kinshasa, then still called Zaire, of a pianist father and a chorister mother. Growing up in a world where African music is in full effervescence, Blaise Labamba is initiated to the piano, the guitar and the percussions.

In 1990, he formed his first group in his neighborhood, Tout-Chic-Gombe. Between 1993 and 1995, Blaise studied music at the National Institute of Arts in Kinshasa, then he joined the group of one of the Congolese stars of the time, the Big Star of General Defao. A succession of international tours then began. Blaise plays with big names of African music and travels the continent.

In 1999, he moved to Montreal and took his place on the Canadian territory by accompanying various groups on stage. With hundreds of concerts to his credit, Blaise Labamba launched his solo career in 2009.

In 2018, he created a group he named Kotakoli, with which he asserts his tastes and desires, while mixing with talent the Congolese rumba zouk and soukous, with a flamboyant energy. As in his live album Personality, do not miss this master of Congolese dance, in the art and manner of Kinshasa !

Bianca Rocha au Club Balattou

Elle est diplômée en musique au Centre Universitaire Claretiano (Curitiba – Brésil) et spécialisée en éducation musicale pour enfants (éveil musical), avec plus de 20 ans d’expérience dans différents domaines de la musique.

Elle a participé à des enregistrements d’artistes tels que Diogo Ramos et Boogát, Du Gomide, Rodrigo Simoes, Alisson Camargo, Guillaume Dion, Claudio Chaves, Athon Gallera, Florian Bill, Xyko Ferreira et Carlito Birolli. Depuis son arrivée à Montréal, elle participe à différents projets musicaux, comme le Jazz Brésilien de Rodrigo Simões, l’Eletrosamba de Diogo Ramos et Boogát et le multiculturel Trans Portée de Guillaume Dion.

Avec eux, elle a eu l’occasion de connaître et tomber amoureuse de la culture québécoise, des petits concerts en plein air aux grands festivals tels que Nuits d’Afrique, dont elle a participé aux éditions 2019 et 2021.

Fière représentante de la nouvelle musique populaire brésilienne, Bianca Rocha vient de lancer Fim de Mundo, son tout premier album. Arrangées par Rodrigo Simões. Les pièces qui y figurent conjuguent des influences jazz, latines et afro-brésiliennes. Bianca Rocha aime mélanger les cultures, les accents et les rythmes. Essentiellement en portugais, l’album fait aussi un clin d’œil à l’espagnol, au français et à l’italien. « Ces chansons racontent un peu mon histoire, mais toujours en faisant des liens avec le collectif », raconte Bianca, qui cite Rosa Passos, Elza Soares, Esperanza Spalding, Hermeto Pascoal et Bobby McFerrin parmi ses influences.

Les chansons de Bianca Rocha abordent des thèmes tels que l’amour sans genre, les maladies mentales comme l’anxiété, le processus de gentrification qui se déroule partout dans le monde, mais aussi un message positif d’unité, de résignation et d’espoir. Sa musique musique latino-américaine porte toujours l’expression d’un peuple fort qui ne se laisse pas submerger par la souffrance, qui reconnaît ses problèmes, mais célèbre la vie et ses petits plaisirs.

Bianca Rocha, is a South Brazilian singer-songwriter. She has been living in Montreal since April 2019.

She has a degree in music from the Claretiano University Center (Curitiba – Brazil) and is specialized in music education for children (musical awakening), with more than 20 years of experience in different fields of music.

She has participated in recordings of artists such as Diogo Ramos and Boogát, Du Gomide, Rodrigo Simoes, Alisson Camargo, Guillaume Dion, Claudio Chaves, Athon Gallera, Florian Bill, Xyko Ferreira and Carlito Birolli. Since her arrival in Montreal, she has participated in different musical projects, such as Rodrigo Simões’ Brazilian Jazz, Diogo Ramos and Boogát’s Eletrosamba and Guillaume Dion’s multicultural Trans Portée.

With them, she had the opportunity to get to know and fall in love with Quebec culture, from small open-air concerts to large festivals such as Nuits d’Afrique, of which she participated in the 2019 and 2021 editions.

Proud representative of the new Brazilian popular music, Bianca Rocha has just launched Fim de Mundo, her very first album. Arranged by Rodrigo Simões. The pieces on it combine jazz, Latin and Afro-Brazilian influences. Bianca Rocha likes to mix cultures, accents and rhythms. Mostly in Portuguese, the album also includes a nod to Spanish, French and Italian. “These songs tell a bit of my story, but always with a link to the collective,” says Bianca, who cites Rosa Passos, Elza Soares, Esperanza Spalding, Hermeto Pascoal and Bobby McFerrin among her influences.

Bianca Rocha’s songs address themes such as genderless love, mental illnesses such as anxiety, the process of gentrification taking place around the world, but also a positive message of unity, resignation and hope. His Latin American music always carries the expression of a strong people who do not let themselves be overwhelmed by suffering, who recognize their problems, but celebrate life and its small pleasures.

Kon-Fusion au Club Balattou

Kon-Fusion est un projet ayant commencé en 2012 en tant qu’atelier créatif musical. La richesse de ce groupe réside dans la variation de styles et d’influences tout en gardant une personnalité solide et unique. Variant des rythmes autochtones et occidentaux et mélangeant des instruments originaires de l’Amérique du sud avec d’autres plus communs, Kon-Fusion nous fait bouger aux pas de la cumbia, du reggae, du ska, du funk, de la rumba et du rock, le tout à sa façon!

À partir de 2018, les années ont été très productives pour le band le plaçant fermement dans la scène musicale Montréalaise et Québécoise. Les moments qui ont marqué cette étape sont notamment la production autogérée d’un premier EP en 2018, la production d’un premier album professionnel, la participation à la 13eme édition des Syli d’Or des Nuits d’Afrique et l’obtention du Syli de Bronze, la participation au Festival Nuits d’Afrique et Tam Tam Macadam d’Alma entre autres festivals, l’obtention du prix Latin Awards Canada 2021 au meilleur groupe Underground et Alternatif de l’année et une tournée par le Bas-Saint-Laurent.

Depuis 2020 le groupe a commencé à propager son impact à l’international. En particulier au Chili. Plus d’une dizaine d’entrevues en radio et certaines en télévision régionale et l’écoute du single SI NO PA KÉ partout dans le pays laissent une base ferme pour une future tournée qui se planifie déjà pour janvier 2023.

Les intégrants sont Luciano Toro (Guitare acoustique, back vocals et flûtes), Pablo Morales (lead vocals, charango, conga et huira), Alex Marchand (Bass et back vocals), Marilou Bouchard (Trompette), Nicolas Lafortune (timbales et percussions), Sam Hampell (Saxophone), Tim Savard (Trombone), Jonathan Misonne (Batterie).

Kon-Fusion is a project that started in 2012 as a creative music workshop. The richness of this group lies in the variation of styles and influences while maintaining a solid and unique personality. Varying indigenous and western rhythms and mixing instruments native to South America with others more common, Kon-Fusion moves us to the steps of cumbia, reggae, ska, funk, rumba and rock, all in its own way!

From 2018, the years have been very productive for the band placing it firmly in the Montreal and Quebec music scene. The moments that have marked this stage include the self-managed production of a first EP in 2018, the production of a first professional album, the participation in the 13th edition of the Syli d’Or des Nuits d’Afrique and the obtaining of the Syli de Bronze, the participation in the Festival Nuits d’Afrique and Tam Tam Macadam d’Alma among other festivals, the obtaining of the Latin Awards Canada 2021 to the best Underground and Alternative band of the year and a tour by the Bas-Saint-Laurent.

Since 2020 the group has begun to spread its impact internationally. In particular in Chile. More than a dozen interviews in radio and some in regional television and the listening of the single SI NO PA KÉ everywhere in the country leave a firm base for a future tour that is already planned for January 2023.

Chico García au Club Balattou

Né au Mexique, Chico Garcia est tombé dans la musique depuis sa naissance. Le coup de foudre a été instantané lorsqu’il a obtenu sa première guitare à l’âge de onze ans.

C’est à l’âge de 15 ans qu’il commence à se faire une place dans la scène musicale de sa ville natale au Mexique. Il a joué avec plusieurs groupes très différents, ce qui lui a permis d’expérimenter des rythmes allant du métal au reggae, sans oublier le côté folklorique latino.

Chico a aussi passé quelques années en Angleterre et en Nouvelle Zélande. Les traces de ce parcours musical peuvent se remarquer dans sa musique aujourd’hui composée d’un mélange de rythmes très différents.

Rock, cumbia, reggae, latino, funk, progressive et d’autres styles, unis par une touche bien propre à Chico García, sont au menu.

Il est accompagné de cinq musiciens venant de cinq pays différents, ce qui donne un mélange étrangement intéressant. Ils nous ont préparé un spectacle rempli de couleurs et saveurs du monde, mais avec une touche épicée du sud, bien propre à Chico García.

Une fusion qui vous fera voyager dans le monde !

Born in Mexico, Chico Garcia has been into music since birth. It was love at first sight when he got his first guitar at the age of eleven.

It was at the age of 15 that he began to make a name for himself in the music scene of his hometown in Mexico. He played with many different bands, which allowed him to experiment with rhythms ranging from metal to reggae, not to mention the Latin folkloric side.

Chico also spent a few years in England and New Zealand. The traces of this musical journey can be seen in his music today, which is a mixture of very different rhythms.

Rock, cumbia, reggae, latino, funk, progressive and other styles, united by Chico García’s own touch, are on the menu.

He is accompanied by five musicians from five different countries, which makes for a strangely interesting mix. They have prepared a show full of colors and flavors of the world, but with a spicy touch of the south, very specific to Chico García.

A fusion that will make you travel the world!

Giovany Arteaga au Club Balattou

Le Giovany Arteaga Quintet nous fait vivre l’expérience du JAZZ AFRO LATIN. Le quintet fusionne des rythmes afro-cubains, de jazz contemporain et de bon vieux R&B/Soul de toutes les Amériques et de leur diaspora.

Giovany Arteaga, né à Cuba en 1977, grandit dans une atmosphère musicale, grâce à son père, flûtiste professionnel qui l’emmène avec lui dans ses concerts.

À 19 ans, sa carrière professionnelle commence dans le groupe de Xiomara Laugart puis avec Omara Portuondo (Buena Vista Social Club). À 20 ans, il décide de s’installer à Montréal pour poursuivre ses études et sa carrière, et tout lui réussit encore une fois. Après quelques années, il décroche son diplôme d’interprétation jazz de l’Université de Montréal et, en parallèle, développe sa carrière musicale.

Il collabore ainsi aux tournées et aux enregistrements de Jane Bunnett, Xiomara Laugert, The Cuban All-Stars, Telmary, Florence K, Nathalie Choquette, Dubmatique, Corneille, parmi d’autres.

Dix ans après son arrivée sur le sol québécois, fort de ces multiples expériences, Giovany Arteaga décide de créer son propre groupe, The Cuban Connexion, groupe de musique à la saveur cubaine agrémenté de jazz, de funk et de rythmes africains. Il crée également le quatuor jazz G4CE.

Grâce à sa maîtrise du saxophone, à sa capacité d’improvisation et à son charisme, Giovany s’est construit une place bien à lui dans le monde de la musique latine de Montréal. Il prend part régulièrement à des festivals au Canada et à Cuba.

The Giovany Arteaga Quintet brings us the AFRO LATIN JAZZ experience. The quintet fuses Afro-Cuban rhythms, contemporary jazz and good old R&B/Soul from all over the Americas and their diaspora.

Giovany Arteaga, born in Cuba in 1977, grew up in a musical atmosphere, thanks to his father, a professional flutist who took him with him to his concerts.

At the age of 19, his professional career began in Xiomara Laugart’s group and later with Omara Portuondo (Buena Vista Social Club). At the age of 20, he decided to move to Montreal to continue his studies and his career, and everything worked out for him once again. After a few years, he obtained a degree in jazz performance from the University of Montreal and, in parallel, developed his musical career.

He collaborated on tours and recordings with Jane Bunnett, Xiomara Laugert, The Cuban All-Stars, Telmary, Florence K, Nathalie Choquette, Dubmatique, Corneille, among others.

Ten years after his arrival in Quebec, Giovany Arteaga decided to create his own group, The Cuban Connexion, a group of Cuban music with jazz, funk and African rhythms. He also created the jazz quartet G4CE.

Thanks to his mastery of the saxophone, his ability to improvise and his charisma, Giovany has built a place for himself in the world of Latin music in Montreal. He regularly participates in festivals in Canada and Cuba.

Zal Sissokho et Hamidou Sagadogo au Club Balattou

Zal Sissokho

Chanteur et auteur-compositeur, Zal Sissokho est aussi un grand joueur de kora. Originaire du Sénégal, il conjugue à merveille son ouverture sur le monde et sa volonté de préserver sa culture et les traditions orales des peuples d’Afrique de l’Ouest. Lui qui chante en malinké et en wolof, se nourrit des rencontres qui jalonnent son parcours, grâce auxquelles il continue d’apprendre et de partager.

Les improvisations propres au flamenco jouent avec les sonorités fluides et cristallines de la kora. Avec ce projet, dont vient d’être tiré l’album Kora Flamenca, Zal Sissokho, le griot montréalais virtuose du majestueux instrument à 21 cordes, surprend. « Même si les respirations des deux musiques sont différentes, l’échange coule de source. La kora ne court jamais derrière les rythmes syncopés, parfois frénétiques, du flamenco et la voix de Zal Sissokho demeure aussi cool et chaloupée que s’il chantait du blues mandingue. D’une grande beauté. » (La Presse, 2020).

Hamidou Sagadogo

Originaire du Burkina Faso, Hamidou Sagadogo fait ses premiers pas comme acteur dans le cinéma burkinabé en 1990 et joint l’Atelier Théâtre Burkinabé à Ouagadougou en 1993. Au fil du temps, il suit diverses formations en jeu, mise en scène ou improvisation, se spécialisant notamment en lecture-spectacle d’albums jeunesse qui intègrent chant, danse, musique, masque ou marionnette. L’univers du conte, qui colore et parsème sa vie depuis la tendre enfance, s’ajoute à son cheminement professionnel en 2001. Son parcours artistique l’a mené du Burkina Faso à la France, en passant par le Mali et la Norvège.

Au Québec depuis plus d’une dizaine d’années, il a donné des ateliers sur le conte dans plusieurs écoles de Montréal et du Québec. Au théâtre, il a joué dans la pièce L’étrangère de la compagnie Mythomanie à Montréal (2010) et a mis son talent de conteur au service des enfants dans les spectacles jeunesse Un si long voyage des Productions Rhizome à Québec (2009-2011) et Le fascinant voyage de Mamadou du Théâtre le Petit Chaplin, à Montréal (2011-2012).

Au petit écran, on a notamment pu le voir dans Le gentleman III, 30 vies et Les jeunes loups.

Au cinéma, il s’est produit dans les films Que ta joie demeure et Boris sans Béatrice de Denis Côté, Le cœur de Madame Sabali de Ryan.

Zal Sissokho

Singer and songwriter, Zal Sissokho is also a great kora player. Originally from Senegal, he marvelously combines his openness to the world with his desire to preserve his culture and the oral traditions of the people of West Africa. He sings in Malinke and Wolof and is nourished by the encounters that mark his journey, thanks to which he continues to learn and share.

Flamenco improvisations play with the fluid and crystalline sounds of the kora. With this project, from which the album Kora Flamenca has just been released, Zal Sissokho, the Montreal griot and virtuoso of the majestic 21-stringed instrument, surprises. “Even if the two musics’ breathing patterns are different, the exchange flows naturally. The kora never runs behind the syncopated, sometimes frenetic, rhythms of flamenco and Zal Sissokho’s voice remains as cool and swaying as if he were singing Mandingo blues. A great beauty.” (La Presse, 2020).

Hamidou Sagadogo

Originally from Burkina Faso, Hamidou Sagadogo took his first steps as an actor in Burkinabe cinema in 1990 and joined the Atelier Théâtre Burkinabé in Ouagadougou in 1993. Over the years, he has taken various training courses in acting, directing and improvisation, specializing in reading and performing children’s books that include singing, dance, music, masks and puppets. The world of storytelling, which has colored and interspersed his life since early childhood, was added to his professional path in 2001. His artistic journey has taken him from Burkina Faso to France, via Mali and Norway.

In Quebec for more than ten years, he has given workshops on storytelling in several schools in Montreal and Quebec. In the theater, he played in the play L’étrangère by the company Mythomanie in Montreal (2010) and used his talent as a storyteller for children in the youth shows Un si long voyage by Productions Rhizome in Quebec City (2009-2011) and Le fascinant voyage de Mamadou by Théâtre le Petit Chaplin, in Montreal (2011-2012).

Diogo Ramos, Lara Klaus, André Galamba et Bianco Rocha au Club Balattou

LARA KLAUS, DIOGO RAMOS, BIANCA ROCHA et ANDRÉ GALAMBA sont 4 auteurs-compositeurs, originaires du Brésil. Leur quatuor s’inscrit dans la longue tradition des musiques populaires brésiliennes.

«Remarquablement polyvalente, elle passe de la guitare à la batterie en chantant ses compositions et celles de ses collaborateurs » (Le Devoir, 2021). En 2021, Lara Klaus a remporté le Syli d’argent lors de la 14e édition des Syli d’Or de la musique du monde ainsi que le prix Coup de cœur du Conseil des arts de Montréal.

Empreinte des sons tantôt feutrés, tantôt énergiques, qu’elle tire d’une vaste gamme de percussions brésiliennes telles que les pandeiro, alfaia et zabumba, la musique de Lara Klaus agence divinement les rythmes de sa région natale du nord-est du Brésil, la soul américaine et les intonations afro-latines.

Diogo Ramos est auteur-compositeur-interprète, originaire de Sao Paolo au Brésil. Sa musique s’inscrit dans la longue tradition des chansonniers populaires brésiliens. Ayant étudié la musique, spécialement la guitare, depuis l’âge de 13 ans, il a été lauréat du prix Vinicius de Moraes, à 16 ans en tant que guitariste interprète.

André Galamba est un guitariste et bassiste actuellement situé à Montréal. Sa musique nous parvient directement de Recife, centre culturel majeur du Nordeste du Brésil, où il a grandi. Ses influences musicales, d’une grande variété rythmique et harmonique, ont fait d’André un musicien polyvalent et complet.

Bianca Rocha est une auteure-compositrice-interprète sud-brésilienne vivant à Montréal depuis avril 2019. Sa musique oscille entre de nombreux styles musicaux, allant de la musique traditionnelle de sa région à la bossa nova et au jazz. Elle porte toujours l’expression d’un peuple fort qui ne se laisse pas submerger par la souffrance, qui reconnaît ses problèmes, mais célèbre la vie et ses petits plaisirs.

LARA KLAUS, DIOGO RAMOS, BIANCA ROCHA and ANDRÉ GALAMBA are 4 authors-composers, originally from Brazil. Their quartet is part of the long tradition of Brazilian popular music.

“Remarkably versatile, she switches from guitar to drums while singing her compositions and those of her collaborators” (Le Devoir, 2021). In 2021, Lara Klaus won the Silver Syli at the 14th edition of the Syli d’Or de la musique du monde as well as the Coup de cœur award from the Conseil des arts de Montréal.

The music of Lara Klaus divinely combines the rhythms of her native northeastern Brazil with American soul and Afro-Latin intonations, using a wide range of Brazilian percussion instruments such as pandeiro, alfaia and zabumba.

Diogo Ramos is a singer-songwriter from Sao Paolo, Brazil. His music is part of the long tradition of Brazilian popular singers. Having studied music, especially guitar, since the age of 13, he was awarded the Vinicius de Moraes Prize at the age of 16 as a guitarist-performer.

André Galamba is a guitarist and bassist currently based in Montreal. His music comes directly from Recife, a major cultural center of Northeast Brazil, where he grew up. His musical influences, of a great rhythmic and harmonic variety, have made André a versatile and complete musician.

Bianca Rocha is a South Brazilian singer-songwriter living in Montreal since April 2019. Her music oscillates between many musical styles, from traditional music of her region to bossa nova and jazz. She always carries the expression of a strong people who do not let themselves be overwhelmed by suffering, who recognize their problems, but celebrate life and its small pleasures.

Stephanie Osorio au Club Balattou

Hivernant dans les rythmes des terres chaudes de l’Amérique du Sud, tout comme un oiseau migrateur, la musique de Stephanie Osorio est remplie de poèmes qui cherchent à développer un son nouveau et chaleureux à partir des rythmes latino-américains, cherchant à contribuer à la diversité musicale du Québec et à offrir au public un voyage musical à travers des histoires de la vie quotidienne qui migrent sans frontières, de l’oreille directement à l’âme de l’auditeur.

Wintering in the rhythms of the warm lands of South America, like a migratory bird, Stephanie Osorio’s music is filled with poems that seek to develop a new and warm sound from Latin American rhythms, seeking to contribute to the musical diversity of Quebec and to offer the audience a musical journey through stories of everyday life that migrate without borders, from the ear directly to the listener’s soul.

Oluwa Banjo au Club Balattou

Oluwa a fait ses débuts dans la musique à l’âge de 17 ans.

Fidèle à la tradition Bantou (qui signifie « humain » en kikongo) et à ses rythmes qui rappellent des messages codés, mais assumant aussi pleinement son urbanité, Oluwa Banjo chante le caractère précieux de la vie, la grande valeur de la nature et l’importance de la bienveillance. Ce natif de la région de Tiko, dans le sud-ouest du Cameroun, une âme positive à l’énergie communicative, s’est notamment fait remarquer à Mützig Star 2016 lors du concours national de musique camerounaise.

Oluwa made his first steps in music at the age of 17.

True to the Bantu tradition (which means “human” in Kikongo) and its rhythms that recall coded messages, but also fully assuming his urbanity, Oluwa Banjo sings about the preciousness of life, the great value of nature and the importance of benevolence. This native of the Tiko region in southwestern Cameroon, a positive soul with infectious energy, was notably noticed at Mützig Star 2016 at the national Cameroon music competition.

Nino & Electric Soul au Club Balattou

NINO & ELECTRIC SOUL est un groupe Soul et RnB. Noah Casseus, leader du groupe, appelle ça de l’Electric Soul. Leur musique fait du bien à l’âme tout en provoquant une énergie électrique. Le groupe s’inspire beaucoup d’Anderson Paak, d’Angelo, Marvin Gaye et beaucoup d’autres légendes de la musique noire américaine.

Noah Casseus, musicalement connu sous le nom de Nino Flamenco, écrit et joue de la guitare et s’occupe également des arrangements musicaux et la direction du groupe.

Depuis sa plus petite enfance, il grandit dans la musique aux côtés de sa mère, la chanteuse Sylvie DesGroseillers. Il continue dans la musique en passant par le groupe de death metal Blisstonia pour finalement trouver quelque chose qui résonnait plus en lui à l’époque : le flamenco et la culture latine.

En 2019 il s’inscrit au programme de guitare jazz du Cégep Saint Laurent pour apprendre la source de sa musique préférée. Au cours du tout premier confinement, il perfectionne ses compétences en pratiquant des solos du grand Wes Montgomery et, au cours de l’année scolaire, il apprend plusieurs grandes techniques sur l’improvisation et la transcription. Pendant l’été 2021, il rassemble quelques chansons qu’il avait déjà composées et crée son groupe appelé Nino & Electric Soul.

NINO & ELECTRIC SOUL is a Soul and RnB band. Noah Casseus, leader of the band, calls it Electric Soul. Their music is good for the soul while provoking an electric energy. The band draws a lot of inspiration from Anderson Paak, Angelo, Marvin Gaye and many other legends of black American music.

Noah Casseus, musically known as Nino Flamenco, writes and plays guitar and also handles the musical arrangements and direction of the band.

Since his early childhood, he grew up in music alongside his mother the singer Sylvie DesGroseillers. He continues in music through the death metal band Blisstonia to finally find something that resonated more in him at the time: flamenco and Latin culture.

In 2019 he enrolled in the jazz guitar program at Cégep Saint Laurent to learn the source of his favorite music. During the very first confinement, he perfects his skills by practicing solos by the great Wes Montgomery and, over the course of the school year, he learns several great techniques on improvisation and transcription. In the summer of 2021, he puts together some songs he had already written and creates his band called Nino & Electric Soul.
