La Femme’s formula is similar to that of the B-52’s or Les Rita Mitsouko: an eccentric attitude, somewhat zany lyrics and a dance-friendly sound. The French band mixes surf rock and coldwave while flirting with krautrock, resulting in a surprisingly accessible blend. In addition to being named Revelation of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique in 2014, La Femme has had some international success, placing it among the most exciting French projects of the decade.
