PHI Center | Lia Kuri Talks and Sings about Mother, Mother Earth… Motherland

Interview by Alain Brunet
Genres and styles : Alt-Pop / Electronic

Additional Information

After releasing a solo EP before the pandemic, Lia Kurihara asap Lia Kuri was about to create her first complete album of songs inspired by the dark destiny of our natural environment, and then she had to take care of her mother with cancer and her father for dementia. It was a rough but formative times for her, and this cycle ot care nourished her creative songwriting project: Motherland evoques her thoughts about Mother Earth, her mother (and father), and the mother she became taking care of her parents. An album is out since October and Lia Kuri is going to perform its alt-pop songs and its singular electronic beatmaking without a band, through a one-woman show and immersive audiovisual format, somewhere between a real music show and a conference. Laurie Anderson may love that ! But let’s have the comments from the artist: Lia Kuri had a chat with Alain Brunet for PAN M 360.
