Twin Tribes

The Chameleons
Le groupe de pop atmosphérique The Chameleons s’est formé à Manchester, en Angleterre, en 1981, sur les cendres de plusieurs groupes locaux : le chanteur et bassiste Mark Burgess venait des Cliches, les guitaristes Reg Smithies et Dave Fielding des Years, et le batteur John Lever (qui a rapidement remplacé le membre fondateur Brian Schofield) avait joué avec les Politicians. Après s’être fait remarquer grâce à une série de sessions pour la BBC, The Chameleons ont signé avec Epic et ont fait leurs débuts en mars 1982 avec le single intense et sombre “In Shreds”, produit par Steve Lillywhite.
The atmospheric pop band the Chameleons formed in Manchester, England, in 1981 from the ashes of a number of local groups: vocalist/bassist Mark Burgess began with the Cliches, guitarists Reg Smithies and Dave Fielding arrived from the Years, and drummer John Lever (who quickly replaced founding member Brian Schofield) originated with the Politicians. After establishing themselves with a series of high-profile BBC sessions, the Chameleons signed to Epic and debuted with the tense, moody single “In Shreds,” produced by Steve Lillywhite and released in March 1982.
