Totem Électrique XVI at Édifice Wilder

The sixteenth edition of Totem Électrique features five female composers (Erin Gee, Audréanne Filion, Sophie Delafontaine, Julie Delisle and Pauline Patie). These original compositions, unique in their genre for Table de Babel, are played by seasoned performers Jean-François Laporte and Francis Leduc. Sublime, captivating lighting by Natasha Descôteaux creates an unforgettable, immersive musical experience. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Productions Totem Contemporain. This concert is part of the Totem Électrique series launched in 2009. It has given rise to the creation of over ninety outstanding mixed musical works specially composed for Jean-François Laporte’s invented instruments, which are combined with an electrical or electronic component (soundtrack, real-time digital processing, electronics, amplification, etc.).

La seizième édition de Totem Électrique met à l’honneur cinq compositrices (Erin Gee, Audréanne Filion, Sophie Delafontaine, Julie Delisle et Pauline Patie). Ces compositions originales et uniques en leur genre pour Table de Babel sont jouées par les interprètes chevronnés Jean-François Laporte et Francis Leduc. Les sublimes et captivants éclairages de Natasha Descôteaux permettent de vivre une expérience musicale immersive et inoubliable. C’est aussi l’occasion de fêter tou·te·s ensemble les 20 ans de Productions Totem Contemporain. Ce concert s’inscrit dans le cadre de la série Totem Électrique lancée en 2009. Elle a donné lieu à la création de plus de quatre-vingt-dix œuvres musicales mixtes hors du commun spécialement composées pour les instruments inventés de Jean-François Laporte, qui sont combinés à une composante électrique ou électronique (bande sonore, traitement numérique en temps réel, électronique, amplification, etc.).
