The Melodic Flat Sharps est un projet né à Montréal en 2017 créé par deux Argentins : Martin Hurynowicz et Javier Muñoz Maldonado. Avec la guitare et le mate à la main, ce duo a décidé de faire un lien musical entre le jazz et ses racines de la musique traditionnelle argentine. Du tango à la chacarera, en passant par le boléro et la zamba, le groupe rend hommage aux grands du jazz et swing comme Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian, Duke Ellington, ainsi que de grands musiciens argentins comme Oscar Aleman, Astor Piazzola, Ariel Ramirez, Atahualpa Yupanqui. Influencés par ces grands musiciens, ils ont créé des compositions originales avec la saveur et le rythme sud-américain.

The Melodic Flat Sharps is a project born in Montreal in 2017 created by two Argentinians: Martin Hurynowicz and Javier Muñoz Maldonado. With guitar and mate in hand, this duo decided to make a musical link between jazz and their roots in traditional Argentine music. From tango to chacarera, bolero and zamba, the group pays tribute to jazz and swing greats such as Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian and Duke Ellington, as well as great Argentine musicians like Oscar Aleman, Astor Piazzola, Ariel Ramirez and Atahualpa Yupanqui. Influenced by these great musicians, they have created original compositions with South American flavor and rhythm.
