The Norwegian band MoE is known for mixing their minimalistic compositions with alternative and experimental approaches that fails to fit in the rock genre. One Hand on the Steering Wheel the Other Sewing a Garden est le nom du deuxième album de l’auteure-compositrice canadienne Alexandra Levy, connue publiquement sous le nom d’Ada Lea. D’une part, il s’agit d’une collection de chansons pop-folk cathartiques et rythmées, d’autre part, c’est un livre de récits de la vie citadine qui font chavirer le cœur. Ada Lea a poursuivi le travail créatif de son premier album What We Say In Private avec des arrangements surprenants et de nouvelles perspectives.

One Hand on the Steering Wheel the Other Sewing a Garden is the name of the second album by Canadian songwriter Alexandra Levy, publicly known by the moniker Ada Lea. On one hand, it’s a collection of walking-paced, cathartic pop/folk songs, on the other it’s a book of heart-twisting, rear-view stories of city life. Ada Lea has followed up the creative, indie-rock songcraft of her debut What We Say in Private with surprising arrangements and new perspectives.

Benjamin Deschamps Big Band au Dièse Onze

Benjamin Deschamps est un saxophoniste et compositeur reconnu par ses pairs de la scène canadienne de jazz, mais également par l’industrie culturelle. Il a entre autres été nommé « Révélation Radio-Canada Jazz » en 2017-2018, puis a remporté le Grand Prix TD du Festival international de Jazz de Montréal en 2019.

Benjamin cumule les médiums artistiques : il est flûtiste, clarinettiste et arrangeur, mais ce sont ses talents de saxophoniste et compositeur qui le mettront sur la sellette.

It was through his classical music background that Benjamin Deschamps discovered jazz to finally make it his own. Although he cumulates artistic mediums (he is a flutist, clarinetist and arranger), it is his talents as a saxophonist and composer that have put him in the spotlight.It was through his classical music background that Benjamin Deschamps discovered jazz to finally make it his own. Jules Encore a sorti son tout premier EP ”En retard” le 28 octobre dernier. Un court opus de huit minutes qui transmet beaucoup d’énergie sous forme d’indie rock garage. Un mois plus tard, c’est au Ministère qu’il partagera sa musique et sa fougue sur la scène. Venez vivre avec lui son premier spectacle dans une soirée qui promet de belles et fortes vibrations.

Jules Encore released his very first EP ”En retard” on October 28th. A short opus of eight minutes that transmits a lot of energy in the form of indie rock garage. One month later, it is at the Ministère that he will share his music and his passion on stage. Zachary Lucky à Casa Del Popolo

L’auteur-compositeur Zachary Lucky, nominé pour plusieurs prix, est indéniablement un chanteur country de la vieille école, armé d’une voix rauque et barytonne. Il se comporte comme un Richard Buckner plus jeune ou un Doug Paisley plus chaleureux et on le compare souvent à des auteurs-compositeurs tels que Gordon Lightfoot et Kris Kristofferson. Il chante les lieux et les gens du Canada avec autant d’aisance que Townes Van Zandt ou le Rio Grande. C’est un spectacle auquel on peut s’identifier à bien des égards et qui évoque des sentiments universels qui ont traversé nos lignes du temps collectives.

Award nominated songwriter Zachary Lucky is unapologetically old-school country, armed with a husky, baritone voice – He carries himself like a younger Richard Buckner or a heartier Doug Paisley and often receives comparisons to songwriters such as Gordon Lightfoot and Kris Kristofferson. He sings of Canadian places and people as knowingly as he might Townes Van Zandt or the Rio Grande. It’s a relatable show on many levels, and conjures universal feelings that have passed through our collective timelines.

Steve Hackett à la Place des Arts

Steve Hackett sera de passage à Montréal lors d’une tournée mettant en vedette l’album live de Genesis, Seconds Out, le double album à succès enregistré lors d’une tournée du groupe en 1977, ainsi que The Cinema Show, issu de leur tournée de 1976. Soutenue par des musiciens parmi les meilleurs de la planète, cette tournée promet de se surpasser.

Hackett est reconnu comme un musicien de rock immensément talentueux et innovant. Il était le guitariste principal du groupe Genesis, au sein duquel il a produit des albums acclamés tels que Selling England by the Pound. Son jeu de guitare a produit des moments mémorables; de la sensibilité du son acoustique sur Horizons et Blood on the Rooftops, aux solos de guitare rock dramatiques de Firth of Fifth et Fountain of Salmacis. En se lançant dans sa carrière solo, il a aussi développé une palette exceptionnelle, repoussant les limites musicales dans des domaines passionnants, explorant des profondeurs inexplorées et utilisant des sons et des instruments provenant des quatre coins du monde.

Steve Hackett is coming to Montreal as he tours Seconds Out, the hugely successful live double album recorded on Genesis’ 1977 concert tour, with recordings from their 1976 concert tour for The Cinema Show. The tour included music from each of the six studio albums from Steve’s time in Genesis, and marked his final recordings with the band as he left to pursue his solo career upon its completion. Supported by some of the best musicians on the planet, this tour promises to live up to all of Steve’s past successes.

Steve is renowned as an immensely talented and innovative rock musician. He was lead guitarist with Genesis, during which time produced such acclaimed albums as Selling England by the Pound. With Genesis, Steve’s guitar playing produced several unforgettable moments; from the sensitivity of his acoustic sound on Horizons and Blood on the Rooftops to the dramatic rock guitar solos of Firth of Fifth and Fountain of Salmacis. As he embarked on his solo career, he further developed his exceptional range, pushing musical boundaries into exciting new areas, exploring uncharted depths, and utilizing sounds and instruments from all four corners of the globe.

Le Jazzlab Orchestra au Théâtre Outremont

Le JAZZLAB ORCHESTRA de Montréal, se définit comme un groupe spécifique, une véritable institution dans l’univers du jazz canadien depuis 2004. Le groupe explore l’écriture musicale dans de nombreux styles, appuyé à chaque fois par des compositeurs et des musiciens époustouflants.

Toujours en recherche avec la nouvelle expérience LOGUSLABUSMUZIKUS, le tout nouveau programme musical, auquel le groupe s’est attelé, rejoint complètement l’esprit artistique de plusieurs idées évocatrices du jazz moderne d’aujourd’hui. L’effervescence est grande, portée sans cesse par des musiciens stupéfiants qui poussent aussi bien l’enjeu du collectif, que leurs propres chants. Les séquences se succèdent avec une pluralité d’éléments thématiques marqués par une sorte d’audace, qui emporte l’ensemble jusqu’aux confins.
