Boston Levi at Casa del Popolo

Mike McNamee is Boston Levi. Born and raised in Perth, Ontario, Mike’s path differs from most musicians. His passion for hockey lead him to a professional career that keeps him busy through the summer and winter seasons. However, when the global pandemic struck, Mike’s hockey career was put on hold forcing him to look inward and begin focusing on honing his craft as a musician and ultimately establishing his new persona. Mike pairs powerful, unique vocals with down to earth but insightful lyricism that is universally relatable and enjoyable. Mike has been working closely with Jay Emmons of The Glorious Sons to shape his sound and produce his first body of work in hopes of soon making Boston Levi a household name.

Mike McNamee est Boston Levi. Né et élevé à Perth, en Ontario, Mike a suivi un parcours différent de celui de la plupart des musiciens. Sa passion pour le hockey l’a conduit à une carrière professionnelle qui l’occupe été comme hiver. Cependant, lorsque la pandémie mondiale a frappé, la carrière de hockeyeur de Mike a été mise en veilleuse, ce qui l’a forcé à se tourner vers l’intérieur et à commencer à se concentrer sur le perfectionnement de son art en tant que musicien et, en fin de compte, sur l’établissement de son nouveau personnage. Mike associe une voix puissante et unique à des paroles terre-à-terre mais perspicaces qui sont universellement racontables et agréables. Mike a travaillé en étroite collaboration avec Jay Emmons de The Glorious Sons pour façonner son son et produire sa première œuvre dans l’espoir de faire bientôt de Boston Levi un nom connu de tous.

Roy Wood$ at Fairmount

At 22 years old, Roy Wood$ has accomplished more in the span of three years than most people do in a lifetime. Born Denzel Spencer in Brampton, Ontario, Wood$ first caught the attention of Drake in 2015, going on to be signed to the OVO SOUND label and debuting his first single “Drama” featuring Drake on OVO SOUND Radio in July of 2015. Wood$’ second single “Get You Good” was also premiered on OVO SOUND Radio in late summer of 2015.

The fruit of Rimsky-Korsakov’s sea voyages as much as his ability to make an orchestra sound exactly the way he wanted it to, Scheherazade is as spellbinding as the stories of the courtesan from the Arabian Nights. Under the baton of Elim Chan, one of the most remarkable conductors of the new generation, tales with such distinct colours intermingle, to the obvious delight of musicians and audience alike. It may be the middle of the night, but This Midnight Hour by Britain’s Anna Clyne pays no heed to the neighbours. Immersive, she plunges us into a night of mad running and melancholy. Percussionist Dominique Vleeshouwers delivers the astonishing Speaking Drums by Hungary’s Peter Eötvös, in which the soloist literally talks to his snare drums, bells and other instruments, with contagious joy.

Fruit des voyages en mer de Rimski-Korsakov autant que de sa capacité à faire sonner un orchestre exactement comme il le souhaite, Shéhérazade est aussi envoûtante que les histoires de la courtisane des Mille et une nuits. Sous la baguette d’Elim Chan, l’une des cheffes les plus remarquables de la nouvelle génération, les contes aux couleurs pourtant si distinctes s’entremêlent, pour le plaisir évident des musiciens et du public. C’est peut-être le milieu de la nuit, mais This Midnight Hour de la Britannique Anna Clyne ne fait pas attention aux voisins. Immersive, elle nous plonge dans une nuit de course folle puis de mélancolie. Le percussionniste Dominique Vleeshouwers livre l’étonnant Speaking Drums du Hongrois Peter Eötvös, où le soliste parle littéralement à ses caisses claires, cloches et autres instruments, avec une joie contagieuse.

Son prochain album, E3, met en valeur son imagination et sa construction du monde – c’est son expérience la plus immersive et la plus conceptuelle à ce jour.

The songs of midwxst feel like beacons in a tempest. RALAMI is an artist of Beninese origin living in Canada, where he performs a number of shows and exercises his artistic talent. He defines himself as a talented musicpreneur and has many strings to his bow in the field. Singer, rapper, sound designer, author, composer, beatmaker, he plays several instruments. He left Benin in 2012 for Montreal, from where he returns annually for shows and music videos.

Founder of a young artist development label called FON SONORE PRODUCTION registered in Canada as well as Benin, He is currently in co-production with MEKO PROD AFRICA. His aim is to make his culture known to the world through his native language FON and the many rhythms of his country mixed with his musical influences around the world.

He has to his credit a 12-track mixtape FON SONORE and an Extended Play (6-track mini album) entitled TCHIGAN.

RALAMI est un artiste d’origine béninoise résidant au Canada où il donne plusieurs spectacles et exerce son talent artistique. Il se définit comme un music preneur talentueux et a plusieurs cordes à son arc dans le domaine. Chanteur, rappeur, Sound designer, auteur, compositeur, beatmaker, il joue de plusieurs instruments. Il a quitté le Bénin depuis 2012 pour Montréal d’où il revient annuellement pour des shows et clips.

Fondateur d’un jeune label de développement d’artistes du nom de FON SONORE PRODUCTION immatriculé au Canada ainsi qu’au Bénin, Il est actuellement en coproduction avec MEKO PROD AFRICA. Il a pour objectif de faire connaître sa culture dans le monde à travers sa langue natale le FON et les nombreux rythmes de son pays mélangé à ses influences musicales dans le monde.

Adrian Vedady Quartet at Upstairs

Adrian Vedady is one of Montreal’s finest jazz bassists. Since 1998, he has been performing, recording and touring nationally and internationally. He is known for his beautiful sound, his creativity, his ability to connect with a wide range of musicians and his soul.

The Adrian Vedady Quartet will play originals written by Vedady as well as compositions by Wayne Shorter, Thelonius Monk, Billy Strayhorn, Steve Swallow and Cole Porter.

Adrian Vedady est l’un des meilleurs bassistes de jazz de Montréal. Depuis 1998, il se produit, enregistre et effectue des tournées nationales et internationales. Il est connu pour son son magnifique, sa créativité, sa capacité à se connecter avec un large éventail de musiciens et son âme.

Le quatuor Adrian Vedady jouera des originaux écrits par Vedady ainsi que des compositions de Wayne Shorter, Thelonius Monk, Billy Strayhorn, Steve Swallow et Cole Porter.

FMA: Memories From Xinjiang, Taklamakan & Karakoram

Deep in the Taklamakan desert, in the Karakoram mountains on the edge of Pakistan’s borders, Uighur musicians, shamans and bards engage in musical rites of elevation, contemplation and trance.

Traveling artists Francois R. Cambuzat and Gianna Greco have brought back from this adventure a multitude of images with which they engage in a frantic dialogue in a gripping cine-concert. The heart of this culture, retranscribed using computers and electric instruments, is combined with electro-rock fury to give birth to a breathtaking neo-shamanic music!

Au fin fond du désert du Taklamakan, dans les montagnes du Karakoram situées à la lisière des frontières pakistanaises, des musiciens ouïgours, chamans, et bardes, s’adonnent à des rites musicaux faits d’élévation, de contemplation et de transe.

Les artistes voyageurs Francois R. Cambuzat et Gianna Greco ont ramené de cette aventure une multitude d’images avec lesquelles ils engagent un dialogue effréné dans un ciné-concert saisissant. Le cœur de cette culture, retranscrit à l’aide d’ordinateurs et d’instruments électriques, est conjugué à une fureur rock électro pour donner naissance à une musique néo-chamanique ébouriffante!
