The Chet Doxas Trio with Jacob Sacks & Carmen Rothwell is a musical playground where Doxas’ compositions and these world-class improvisers get the chance to play and discover new sonic territories together. Eminently imaginative in inspiration, construction and delivery, the trio come together to create a varied emotional palette filled with wonder, humor and curiosity. “A truly personal work of art” – Downbeat Magazine

Raised in Montreal in a musical family, Chet Doxas’ love of music was fostered by his father (musician, teacher, sound engineer and producer) and his older brother, drummer Jim Doxas, with whom he performs regularly. Since his early days, Chet has led the Chet Doxas Trio, which presents original compositions in a chamber-music aesthetic despite the absence of drums, and his group Rich in Symbols, whose repertoire is inspired by his love of the visual arts. He is also a member of the interdisciplinary improvisation ensemble Landline, a collective whose compositional process is based on telephone playing. Chet Doxas has been nominated for several Juno Awards, featured on over a hundred recordings and produced eight albums as leader and co-leader. He was recently elected to Downbeat Magazine’s 2022 Rising Star Critics’ Poll in the tenor saxophone category.
