Nuits d’Afrique : Ketsmy

Fri 21 Jul 2023 • 03:30 pm Blues Rock / Soul
Scène Loto-Québec - Montréal Gratuit
· by Rédaction PAN M 360

In French, English and Creole, music is his way of shouting his indignation against social inequalities, racism in particular, raising awareness and showing the beauty of black culture. Ketsmy was deeply moved by the murder of Georges Floyd. Putting his soulful voice to good use, the singer-songwriter – who won the Conseil des arts de Montréal’s Prix du public at the 15th edition of the Syli d’or in 2022 – channels his sense of revolt into Blues-rock, Neo-soul, Hip-Hop and Afrobeat rhythms, sometimes punctuated by Kompa.
