Death is omnipresent in the lives of the Bach family. Indeed, they had to endure a considerable number of bereavements. This is often what we find particularly touching in Bach’s music: the man of faith and the man of flesh and blood come face to face. This concert seeks to convey the message that we must never sink into melancholy but, on the contrary, use it to propel us forward. Just as the Bachs did. They used death to make their works immortal, and to nourish their present.
La mort est omniprésente dans la vie de la famille Bach. Ils ont, en effet, dû endurer un nombre considérable de deuils. C’est souvent cela que l’on trouve particulièrement touchant dans la musique de Bach : l’homme de foi et l’homme de chair et de sang s’y retrouvent face à face. Ce concert cherche à nous transmettre le message suivant : il ne faut jamais s’enfoncer dans la mélancolie mais, au contraire, s’en servir comme propulseur d’un élan vital. Comme ce fut le cas pour les Bach. Ils ont utilisé la mort pour rendre leurs œuvres immortelles, et pour nourrir leur présent.
