Pouya s’est fait connaître avec “Get Buck”, titre phare de son EP Baby Bone, un morceau brutal et agressif, dépourvu de refrain. Le titre de cet EP sorti en 2013 faisait référence à son surnom et à son admiration pour Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Si l’influence de ce groupe pionnier du rap mélodique se ressent tout au long de sa discographie, le rappeur originaire de Miami s’est démarqué par un style personnel et créatif, ainsi que par sa grande capacité d’adaptation aux variations de ses producteurs. Entre 2016 et 2018, Pouya connaît le succès avec Underground Underdog, Drop Out of School (en collaboration avec Fat Nick) et Five Five, qui se hissent dans les classements Billboard. Durant cette période, il marque aussi les esprits avec “1000 Rounds”, un single réalisé avec Ghostemane. Lorsque ce titre est certifié or en 2021, son catalogue s’est enrichi de plusieurs projets indépendants, dont The South Got Something to Say et Blood Was Never Thick as Water.

From 2016 through 2018, Pouya’s Underground Underdog, Drop Out of School (with Fat Nick), and Five Five each hit Billboard charts, a period during which the rapper also scored with the Ghostemane collaboration “1000 Rounds.” By the time that single went gold, in 2021, Pouya’s catalog had expanded with additional independent projects such as The South Got Something to Say and Blood Was Never Thick as Water.
