Entre les époques et les styles, c’est à un périple au travers l’histoire de son instrument que nous convie le pianiste Inon Barnatan, de retour au Festival après quinze ans d’absence. De la danse baroque au grand cycle de variations, en passant par la musique d’aujourd’hui et le kaléidoscope de Ligeti ou Barber, son récital culmine sur les cimes du romantisme, avec les « Variations Handel » de Brahms.

Returning to the Festival after a decade, pianist Inon Barnatan invites us on a journey through the history of his instrument, winding his way through different eras and styles. From Baroque dance to the great variation cycles, through the music of today and the kaleidoscopic works of Ligeti and Barber, this recital ascends to the heights of Romanticism, culminating with Brahms’ “Handel Variations.”
