Le groupe de metal progressif Born of Osiris, originaire de Chicago, est l’un des premiers groupes de deathcore des années 2000 à avoir abandonné ce genre au profit d’un mélange brutal mais envoûtant de death metal technique et de metalcore. Leur style se distingue par des duels de guitares virtuoses et des claviers quasi psychédéliques, influencés aussi bien par Judas Priest et Iron Maiden que par Helloween et Meshuggah. D’abord ancré dans le deathcore avec l’EP The New Reign (2007), le groupe évolue vers un son plus technique et mélodique avec Higher Place (2009), attirant un public grandissant. Ils ont placé quatre albums dans la première moitié du classement américain, dont Tomorrow We Die Alive (2013), qui a atteint la 27ᵉ place. Soul Sphere (2015) s’est hissé à la deuxième place des classements hard rock. En 2017, The Eternal Reign, une réinterprétation progressive et réenregistrée de The New Reign, a suscité autant d’éloges que de critiques. The Simulation (2019), un EP de 28 minutes censé être la première partie d’un diptyque, n’a finalement jamais eu de suite. Le groupe a sorti un album entièrement différent, Angel or Alien, en juillet 2021.

The Chicago-based progressive metal outfit Born of Osiris are known as one of the first deathcore acts from the 2000s to leave that genre behind in favor of a brutal yet alluring meld of technical death metal and metalcore filled with flashy twin-guitar leads and near-psychedelic keyboard adventures that owe as much to Judas Priest and Iron Maiden as they do Helloween and Meshuggah. Though they began as a typical deathcore band with 2007’s The New Reign EP, by 2009’s Higher Place, they’d all but abandoned that sound to focus on a more technically advanced, melodically astute, and brutally forceful approach. Its appeal garnered an ever-growing cadre of admirers. They have placed four albums in the upper half of the U.S. album chart, including 2013’s Tomorrow We Die Alive, which peaked at number 27. Subsequent titles like 2015’s Soul Sphere went to number two on the hard rock charts. 2017’s The Eternal Reign was a progressive, track-by-track re-recording of 2007’s The New Reign; it met with both high praise and withering criticism. 2019’s The Simulation was 28-minute EP that was reportedly the first of a two-part album, but it never materialized. An entirely different outing titled Angel or Alien appeared in July 2021.

Jacques se lance en 2020 avec 4 singles après avoir travaillé son rap pendant une décennie et perfectionner sa direction artistique, se créant sur mesure un univers singulier et riche en références. Il poursuit sa lancée l’année d’après avec une trilogie d’EPs, dans lequel il dévoile une plume et un phrasé reconnaissables entre mille. Lauréat du concours organisé par Le Chroniqueur Sale et Groover en mai 2021, il gagne en visibilité autant auprès du public que des professionnels du milieu.

Originally from Courbevoie in the 92nd district, B.B. Jacques made his debut in 2020 with four singles after spending a decade refining his rap and perfecting his artistic direction, crafting a unique universe rich in references. He continued his rise the following year with a trilogy of EPs, showcasing a writing style and flow that are instantly recognizable. Winner of the competition organized by Le Chroniqueur Sale and Groover in May 2021, he gained visibility both among the public and industry professionals.

Lionel KIZABA, auteur-compositeur-interprète, Révélations Radio-Canada 2024-2025, multiinstrumentiste et pionnier de la musique électro afro-congolaise basé à Montréal, a tracé un chemin musical unique qui emmène son large public international dans un voyage dans son univers afrofuturiste. Avec une fusion du français, de l’anglais, du kikongo et du lingala, ses compositions transcendent les barrières linguistiques. Son album « Kizavibe » a reçu plusieurs nominations en 2024 aux Juno Awards pour l’album musical mondial de l’année, d’autres prix incluent Artiste international ou groupe musical de l’année Dynastie, Artiste ou groupe de musique du monde de l’année Dynastie, Artiste ou groupe de musique francophone. de l’année Dynastie, et chez Gamiq et ALBUM/EP WORLD.

Les origines du groupe britannique de rock progressif Big Big Train remontent à la fin des années 1980, lorsque Gregory Spawton quitte les Midlands pour s’installer à Bournemouth, sur la côte sud de l’Angleterre, où il se lie d’amitié avec Andy Poole. Partageant une passion pour des groupes de prog classique comme Genesis et Van der Graaf Generator, les deux musiciens commencent à composer et enregistrer ensemble, établissant un partenariat musical qui durera des décennies. Au début des années 1990, Big Big Train évolue d’un simple duo vers un véritable groupe, avec Spawton à la guitare et Poole à la basse, rejoints par Martin Read au chant, Steve Hughes à la batterie et Ian Cooper aux claviers. Deux albums démo auto-produits leur permettent de signer avec le label européen Giant Electric Pea, qui publie leur premier album, Goodbye to the Age of Steam, en 1994. Leur rock progressif intelligent et mélodique est bien accueilli et leur vaut un contrat de distribution au Japon en 1995. Cette même année, Ian Cooper est remplacé aux claviers par Tony Müller, marquant le premier d’une longue série de changements de formation. Un concert à Londres, où le groupe dévoile des morceaux de son deuxième album à venir, sera leur seule performance live de cette époque. Après la sortie de English Boy Wonders en 1997, il semble que l’élan de Big Big Train ait déjà commencé à s’essouffler.

The roots of British progressive act Big Big Train can be traced back to the late ’80s, when Gregory Spawton moved down from the Midlands to coastal Bournemouth and befriended Andy Poole. Bonding over a mutual love of classic prog bands like Genesis and Van der Graaf Generator, the two began writing and recording together, forming a musical partnership that would continue for decades. The early ’90s saw Big Big Train emerge from a nascent duo to a full-fledged band featuring Spawton on guitar and Poole on bass, with new members Martin Read on vocals, Steve Hughes on drums, and Ian Cooper on keyboards. A pair of self-released demo albums got them signed to European label Giant Electric Pea, which released their debut full-length, 1994’s Goodbye to the Age of Steam. Their intelligent, melodic prog was well-received and yielded a licensing deal in Japan in 1995. That same year, keyboardist Cooper was replaced by new recruit Tony Müller, resulting in the first of what would eventually be numerous lineup shifts over the coming years. A London show, where they debuted material from their upcoming second album, would prove to be their only live performance during this period and, following the release of 1997’s English Boy Wonders, it seemed Big Big Train’s momentum had already faded.

Elder est un groupe américain de heavy metal exploratoire qui puise autant son inspiration dans le rock progressif que dans le stoner metal. Apparu en 2006, le groupe n’a cessé d’affiner son son à chaque nouvel album, intégrant des éléments de doom, sludge, prog-folk et heavy-psych sur des disques comme Reflections of a Floating World (2017) et Omens (2020). En 2021, ils collaborent avec le trio allemand Kadavar sur Eldovar: A Story of Darkness & Light, avant de revenir en 2022 avec leur propre album, Innate Passage.

Elder are an explorative American heavy metal group who take inspiration from progressive rock almost as much as from stoner metal. Emerging in 2006, the band have continued to hone their sound on each successive release, with efforts like Reflections of a Floating World (2017) and Omens (2020) incorporating elements of doom, sludge, prog-folk, and heavy-psych into the mix. In 2021 they collabolrated with German trio Kadavar on Eldovar: A Story of Darkness & Light, and returned with their own Innate Passage in 2022.

Quatuor punk de Los Angeles influencé par le mouvement riot grrrl, The Linda Lindas allient le charme du power pop à l’énergie brute du garage pour créer un son entraînant et contagieux. A riot grrrl-influenced punk quartet from Los Angeles, the Linda Lindas fuse power pop charm with garage spirit to create a rousing and infectious sound. While still in their early teens, the four young musicians made a rapid ascent to success, landing gigs with Bikini Kill and Alice Bag and appearing in the Amy Poehler film Moxie. FRIZZI 2 FULCI au Théâtre Fairmount

En 2013, le projet « FRIZZI 2 FULCI » voit le jour, en hommage au cinéma de Lucio Fulci. Frizzi, accompagné d’un groupe de grands musiciens, après le légendaire concert inaugural à l’Union Chapel de Londres, part en tournée à travers le monde avec ce spectacle, retraçant toute l’histoire musicale de sa collaboration avec Fulci. Les longues suites aux accents de rock progressif attirent de nombreux fans partout, en Europe, en Amérique du Nord, au Moyen-Orient… Le projet se développe ensuite avec un deuxième spectacle, la bande-son en live de THE BEYOND COMPOSER’S CUT, et en 2023, avec un troisième spectacle, ZOMBIE COMPOSER’S CUT, la projection accompagnée en direct par le groupe du premier film d’horreur de Lucio Fulci.

In 2013 the project “FRIZZI 2 FULCI” was born, a tribute to the cinema of Lucio Fulci. Frizzi, accompanied by a band of great musicians, after the legendary debut at the Union Chapel in London, tours the world with this show, which traces the entire musical history of the collaboration.
