La Belle Petite équipe

Les membres de La Belle Petite équipe reviennent à la source, après avoir présenté en première leur performance de groupe à Chants de Vielles il y a dix ans. Depuis, on les voit dans les festivals au Québec et en Bretagne. Leur spectacle original de chants racontant l’aventure humaine dans ce qu’elle a de plus universel : la rudesse du travail dans les chantiers, les amours malheureuses, ou pas, le déracinement, la partance, etc. Ces chansons, issues des répertoires traditionnels québécois, cajun et breton, et parfois des créations originales, touchent et font voyager. Formation réduite issue de La Belle équipe, La Belle Petite équipe réunira sur scène le Breton Roland Brou (chants et bodhran) et les Québécois Liette Remon (violon, chant, ukulele) et Paul Marchand (chant, guitare et podorythmie).

Liette Remon and Paul Marchand, from Quebec, and Roland Brou and Patrick Couton, from Brittany, have been presenting an original, dynamic and sensitive show since 2016, built around sung life stories that place humanity at the forefront. Traditional repertoires from Quebec, Brittany, Acadia and Cajun, as well as original compositions, recount the harshness of labour on building sites, loves – whether unhappy or not – uprooting and departure… The words are moving because, beyond the anecdote, they touch on the universal. La Belle Équipe has performed in Quebec at the Chants de Vielles festival (St-Antoine-sur-Richelieu), the Harmonies Celtiques festival (Eastern Townships), the Rendez-Vous ès-Trad (Quebec City), as well as at the Bogue d’Or in Redon, the Festival du Chant de Marin (Paimpol), the Festival de Lorient, and the Festival Mémoire et Racines … Following the summer 2025 tour of Brittany, we will return to Quebec for the Chants de Vielles festival to celebrate the group’s tenth anniversary.

Depuis 20 ans déjà, les six membres de Galant, tu perds ton temps font succomber l’auditoire à travers le Québec par leur démarche passionnée, leur charisme et leur énergie contagieuse. Le groupe a vu le jour en 2003, avec pour ambition de mettre en valeur le répertoire de chants traditionnels féminin, interprété à l’unisson ou en harmonie. Au fil du temps, non seulement la passion a grandi, mais aussi la rigueur au travail, le désir de repousser les limites de « l’a cappella » et l’amitié, bien entendu. Alors qu’ils se préparent à faire paraître leur nouvel album Sur le faîte le 12 juin, le festival est des plus heureux d’accueillir Jacinthe Dubé, Josianne Hébert, Evelyne Gélinas, Isabelle Payette, Mia Lacroix et Louis-Simon Lemieux, de brillants ambassadeurs d’un folklore vivant, vibrant et intelligent.

For over 20 years, the six members of Galant, tu perds ton temps have been captivating audiences across Quebec with their passion, charisma, and infectious energy. Formed in 2003, the group set out to showcase the rich repertoire of traditional songs performed in unison or in harmony. Over the years, not only has their passion deepened, but so too have their artistic discipline, their desire to push the boundaries of a cappella singing, and, of course, their enduring friendship. As they prepare to release their new album, Sur le faîte, on June 12, the festival is delighted to welcome Jacinthe Dubé, Josianne Hébert, Evelyne Gélinas, Isabelle Payette, Mia Lacroix, and Louis-Simon Lemieux, outstanding ambassadors of a living, vibrant, and thoughtful folk tradition.

Los Vega

Los Vega est un groupe de musiciens traditionnels qui se voue depuis près de 25 ans à la promotion du son jarocho traditionnel, musique originaire des villages de Veracruz, région paysanne de l’Est du Mexique. Sa musique offre un équilibre réussi entre racines culturelles, héritage familial de cinquième génération, performance et expérience scénique. Ils ont participé à plusieurs festivals au Mexique, en Chine, aux États-Unis et au Canada. Los Vega a enregistré cinq albums studio. En 2001, il a enregistré La Bruja pour la bande originale du film mexicain Frida, nommé aux Oscars 2001.

Los Vega is a traditional son jarocho ensemble with over two decades of dedication to the performance, preservation, and promotion of this vibrant musical tradition from Veracruz, Mexico. Rooted in deep family heritage, the group is known for striking a dynamic balance between authenticity and contemporary stage presence, bringing both musical excellence and cultural richness to every performance. Over the past 20 years, Los Vega has appeared at major cultural and artistic festivals across Mexico and internationally, including tours in China, the United States, Canada, and Colombia. Their music has also reached global audiences through film, notably with their rendition of “La Bruja” featured in the soundtrack of Frida, which received an Academy Award nomination. In 2018, the group celebrated its 20th anniversary with a large-scale collaborative performance featuring more than 20 distinguished son jarocho artists. They have also been recognized with a nomination for the prestigious Lunas del Auditorio and were invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York as part of a concert conducted by composer Philip Glass. Los Vega has released five albums and continues to share the living tradition of son jarocho with audiences worldwide.
