Milanku – Lancement d’album au Ausgang Plaza

by Rédaction PAN M 360

by Rédaction PAN M 360

by Rédaction PAN M 360

Montreal-based artists, Bronswick are dedicated to creating captivating melancholy pop. Coming from different cultures, Catherine Coutu (Quebecer) and Bertrand Pouyet (Canadian of French origin) amalgamate their influences to create a timeless sound where pop, urban rhythms and the new Francophone wave intersect.

After releasing the EPs Errances (2015) and Chassés-croisés (2016), as well as the album Nuits plurielles (2019), the duo will unveil their new album, Entre mes insomnies, on April 29. This second opus plunges us into the last years of the two artists; between travels and separations, a desire to see further despite the fear of the future, participating in endless parties while facing great moments of loneliness.

Dany Placard at Ausgang Plaza

by Rédaction PAN M 360

With a dozen albums and several hundred shows under his belt, Dany Placard offers a musical immersion into the heart of psychedelic rock with hallucinatory motifs. Through his most recent releases, the artist tells his story, that of a man who doesn’t have his head in the clouds, but doesn’t have both feet on the ground either.

Accompanied by his musicians, Charles Guay on drums, Nicolas Beaudoin on guitar, Léandre Bourgeois on keyboards and Marc-Olivier Tremblay Drapeau on bass, Placard invites his audience into his trip, occasionally dipping into his past records to arouse nostalgia.

Insolitudes: metis menu

by Rédaction PAN M 360

For the second series of the Insolitudes festival presented at Ausgang Plaza, a mixed evening presents in turn Funk Lion, Djely Tapa and Briga. Funk Lion is embodied by a Quebecer of Haitian origin, his emancipatory and poetic quest is presented as a journey for uprooting at sometimes unusual stations. As for Djely Tapa, the Montreal singer once again offers her repertoire drawing from her Mandingo and Malian roots, without neglecting many updates developed in her adopted city. Violinist, composer and producer, Briga also sings in French and English, Montreal style. Ambitious and charged, her updated compositions have infused the Roma, Balkan, Ottoman, Maghrebian and Montreal teapots.

The Underground Youth • Lorelle Meets The Obsolete

by Geneviève Gendreau

Berliners by adoption The Underground Youth showcase their latest album, Montage Images of Lust & Fear, released in March 2019, during their very first visit to Montreal. Buttressed by the charismatic presence of Craig Dyer, the project’s founder, The Underground Youth unfold an atmospheric post-punk laced with the troubled moods of disillusioned crooner Dyer. The result: ballads bitter rather than sweet, evoking Nick Cave. They will be accompanied by the Mexican band Lorelle Meets the Obsolete, just as worthy of mention for their hushed, irresistibly lunar psychedelia. They’ll also release a new EP the following day, RE – FACTO, on Sonic Cathedral, featuring two original tracks and two remixes. It is, for them too, a first passage through town.
