Herb Alpert et Lani Hall au Théâtre Maisonneuve

Herb (87 ans) fête le 60e anniversaire de l’enregistrement de son premier hit, The Lonely Bull, en 1962.

Herb, Lani et leur incroyable groupe interpréteront un mélange éclectique de standards américains, de jazz brésilien, de Beatles, de chansons classiques de Tijuana Brass et Brazil ’66, ainsi que de nombreuses surprises. Le spectacle sera informel, puisqu’Herb aime répondre aux questions du public sur sa carrière musicale et celle de Lani, sur A&M Records et sur les nombreux artistes emblématiques avec lesquels ils ont tous deux travaillé au cours des 60 dernières années.

Le spectacle présentera aussi un écran vidéo géant qui affichera des centaines de photos classiques, des vidéos et divers souvenirs de la carrière musicale d’Herb et de Lani. Il s’agira d’un concert vraiment passionnant offert par deux artistes légendaires! 

Herb (87 years old) is celebrating his 60th year since recording his first hit song, “The Lonely Bull” in 1962. 

Herb, Lani and their incredible band, perform an eclectic mix of American standards, Brazilian jazz, some Beatles, some classic Tijuana Brass & Brazil ’66 songs as well as many surprises. The shows are informal as Herb loves to answer questions from the audience about his and Lani’s music careers, A&M Records and the many iconic artists they have both worked with over the past 60 years.

The show features a giant video screen that displays hundreds of classic photos, videos and various memorabilia from Herb & Lani’s music careers. A really exciting show from two legendary performers!

Marco Ema + La Faune à Santa Teresa

Prenant d’assaut la scène indie rock, Marco Ema apparaît comme un vent de fraîcheur dans le paysage québécois. Après le succès des extraits Janvier vient te reprendre et Ceci n’est pas une chanson d’amour, il lance son premier album Où nos corps s’en vont mourir en novembre 2021, projet brillamment acclamé par la critique qui lui permet également d’être nommé Future star iHeartRadio d’avril 2022 sur Énergie avec sa chanson Amy. Sous la réalisation sensible de Simon Pedneault (Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Gabrielle Shonk, Tire le Coyote), Marco met en musique des récits aux allures de coming-of-age movies qui abordent habilement le passage à la vie adulte, avec toutes les émotions et les débordements qui en découlent.

La Faune – Jérémie Essiambre – est un producteur-réalisateur francophone de la relève qui mélange le rock, la pop, le folk et l’expérimental pour créer sa propre jungle musicale. Hybride Gaspésien-Montréalais, Jérémie est un mélomane fasciné par le son de la ville, direct et simple, superposé aux vastes paysages sonores aériens des grands espaces. ‘La Faune’ représente toutes les personnes et les expériences qui l’entourent.

Taking the indie rock scene by storm, Marco Ema appears as a fresh wind in the Quebec landscape. After the success of the singles Janvier vient te reprendre and Ceci n’est pas une chanson d’amour, he launched his first album Où nos corps s’en vont mourir in November 2021, a project brilliantly acclaimed by the critics, which also allowed him to be named Future star iHeartRadio of April 2022 on Énergie with his song Amy. Under the sensitive direction of Simon Pedneault (Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Gabrielle Shonk, Tire le Coyote), Marco sets to music stories that look like coming-of-age movies and that skilfully tackle the passage to adulthood, with all the emotions and outbursts that come with it.

La Faune – Jérémie Essiambre – is an up-and-coming francophone producer-director who mixes rock, pop, folk and experimental music to create his own musical jungle. A Gaspesian-Montrealer hybrid, Jérémie is a music lover fascinated by the straightforward and simple sounds of the city, layered with the vast aerial soundscapes of the great outdoors. La Faune’ represents all the people and experiences that surround him.

Bønanza + Frais Dispo + Vanille + Roselle à Santa Teresa

Bønanza, le nouveau projet musical de l’auteur-compositeur-interprète et réalisateur Dominic Pelletier (Caravane), a fait paraître son premier album, Prince Limonade, le 14 octobre 2022 via L-A be.

Frais Dispo, c’est le nom qu’ont choisi les musiciens de Foreign Diplomats pour lancer leur tout premier album en français. Bien plus qu’un projet parallèle, Frais Dispo marque un nouveau jalon dans le parcours d’Élie Raymond (guitare, voix), d’Antoine Lévesque-Roy (basse), de Thomas Bruneau Faubert (trombone, synthétiseurs), de Charles Primeau (guitares) et d’Antoine Gallois (batterie).

Vanille est le projet de l’auteure-compositrice-interprète Rachel Leblanc. Oscillant entre folk d’inspiration 60s et chanson française, la musique de Vanille plonge l’auditeur dans un monde onirique bordé de forêts denses et de drames amoureux. Son deuxième album La clairière, orné d’arrangements raffinés et de mélodies intemporelles, a vu le jour le 3 février dernier sur l’étiquette indépendante Bonbonbon.

Roselle, Rosalie Roberge de son vrai nom, a été introduite à l’industrie musicale par la grande porte. L’émission La Voix l’a révélée au grand public et certains plus férus de la culture musicale auront compris qu’elle est la sœur et collaboratrice vocale de Vincent Roberge (Les Louanges). Après avoir été embauchée comme nouvelle chanteuse du groupe The Lost Fingers, ajoutant sa couleur au sein du projet par son sens de l’esthétisme et par sa vision de la mode, c’est maintenant à son tour de briller sur les planches avec un premier album complètement à son image.

Frais Dispo is the name the musicians of Foreign Diplomats have chosen to launch their very first album in French. Much more than a side project, Frais Dispo marks a new milestone in the career of Élie Raymond (guitar, vocals), Antoine Lévesque-Roy (bass), Thomas Bruneau Faubert (trombone, synthesizers), Charles Primeau (guitars) and Antoine Gallois (drums).

Vanille is the project of singer-songwriter Rachel Leblanc. Oscillating between 60s-inspired folk and French chanson, Vanille’s music plunges the listener into a dreamlike world bordered by dense forests and love dramas. Her second album La clairière, with its refined arrangements and timeless melodies, was released on February 3rd on the independent label Bonbonbon.

Roselle, Rosalie Roberge by her real name, was introduced to the music industry through the front door. She was revealed to the public on the TV show La Voix and some of the more musically inclined will have realized that she is the sister and vocal collaborator of Vincent Roberge (Les Louanges). After being hired as the new singer of The Lost Fingers, adding her color to the project with her sense of aesthetics and her vision of fashion, it is now her turn to shine on the stage with a first album completely in her image.

Populi + Private Lives à Santa Teresa

Formé de François Dubé (Stoylov, Anguilles), de Tommy Johnson (I.D.A.L.G., Ponctuation) et de Nicolas Matte (Loïc April, I.D.A.L.G.), le trio se distingue par un magma d’influences liant l’organique au synthétique.

An urgent collision of lo-fi, art-punk and sci-fi surrealism, Populi (formerly Pop Goes) have been riding the waves of the Montreal scene since 2012. Mike Bruzzeze Quartet au Upstairs

Mike Bruzzese est actif sur la scène musicale montréalaise, en tant que leader et sideman. Il a joué aux côtés d’André White, Kevin Dean, Dave Laing, Mike Rud, Michel Lambert, Donny Kennedy, Alec Walkington, Fraser Hollins, Adrian Vedady, Christine Jensen, Joel Miller, Dave Watts, Pierre Francois, Ira Coleman et bien d’autres.

Mike a réuni un quartet talentueux pour son premier album “Even When I’m Dreaming”. Il comprend Gentiane MG, Ira Coleman, Michel Lambert et Caity Gyorgy. Mike trouve de nouvelles façons de donner vie à sa musique. Ce groupe explore des morceaux groove, swing et rubato. Le groupe jouera des morceaux de l’album ainsi que de nouvelles compositions.

Marillion à l’Olympia

La musique de Marillion est, par nature, difficile à résumer, mais on peut peut-être la décrire approximativement comme du rock à la fois expérimental et émotionnel, marié à des paroles provocantes et pleines d’âme – un cocktail puissant et émouvant qui, pour ceux qui l’ont compris, suscite une dévotion extraordinaire. Sa base de fans mondiale est impressionnante et hyper-engagée, les fans parcourant souvent des milliers de kilomètres pour assister aux concerts. Il n’est donc pas étonnant que le groupe ait été bien placé pour exploiter cette foi et cette confiance afin de proposer un autre mode de fonctionnement.

Après plus de trente ans, le groupe ne montre aucun signe de ralentissement et de nouvelles générations de jeunes fans découvrent la musique par eux-mêmes. Et il y en a beaucoup. Avec un catalogue de 18 albums, Marillion a écrit une musique qui puise dans tous les genres et peut être considéré comme progressiste, non seulement d’un point de vue musical, mais aussi dans tous les sens du terme.

Marillion’s music is, by its nature, tough to sum-up but perhaps can be approximately described as musically-experimental-yet-emotional Rock, married to thought provoking, soulful lyrics – a powerful and moving cocktail which, for those who “get it”, elicits extraordinary devotion. Its global fan base is impressive and hyper-engaged, with fans often travelling thousands of miles to attend live shows. Little wonder then, that the band was well-placed to harness this faith and trust to provide an alternative way of operating.

After over thirty years, the band shows no signs of slowing down and new generations of young fans are discovering the music for themselves. And there’s plenty of it. With a catalogue of 18 albums behind them, having written music that draws on every genre Marillion can be considered Progressive not just musically, but in just about every sense.

Blesse + No Waves à Santa Teresa

Blesse, c’est un nouveau groupe formé de Léo Leblanc, Charles-Antoine Olivier (alias CAO) et Xavier Touikan (tous trois ex-Zen Bamboo). Ensemble ils cherchent à créer une réponse chimique, un affranchissement émancipé, un élan créatif cherchant le neuf par le syncrétique. Le trio façonne une pop idiosyncrasique, plurielle, abrasive et surtout catchy s’inspirant notamment de Porches, My Bloody Valentine et Indochine et des mouvances hyperpop et bedroom pop dans une relation de confiance totale où les faux-pas n’existent (presque) pas et où l’évolution se fait par en avant.

NO WAVES est un jeune band montréalais d’influence punk. Les 3 membres du groupe se sont rencontrés au début du secondaire grâce à leur amour commun pour la musique. Un groupe qui n’hésite pas à défendre ce qui est juste et qui met l’accent sur le partage avec sa communauté et la scène musicale montréalaise. Un jeune trio prometteur dont les chansons vous feront sourire et danser même pendant les jours de pluie.

Blesse is a new group formed by Léo Leblanc, Charles-Antoine Olivier (aka CAO) and Xavier Touikan (all three ex-Zen Bamboo). Together they seek to create a chemical response, an emancipated liberation, a creative impulse seeking the new through the syncretic. The trio shapes an idiosyncratic, plural, abrasive and above all catchy pop inspired by Porches, My Bloody Valentine and Indochine as well as hyperpop and bedroom pop movements in a relationship of total trust where there are (almost) no false steps and where evolution is done by moving forward.

NO WAVES is a young punk influenced band from Montreal. The 3 members of the band met in early high school thanks to their common love for music. A band that doesn’t hesitate to stand up for what’s right and emphasizes sharing with their community and the Montreal music scene. A promising young trio whose songs will make you smile and dance even on rainy days.

Anatole + Pure Carrière à Santa Teresa

C’est une idée d’abord plastique, ensuite sordide qui matérialise Anatole dans les fantasmes de son hôte, Alexandre Martel. L’esprit d’Anatole prend rapidement possession des salles de spectacles, faisant vibrer son irrésistible synth pop qui annonçait déjà l’arrivée de la “Nouvelle LA” dans un premier album intitulé “L.A./Tu es des nôtres”, en mars 2016.

Pure Carrière est née en 2017 avec un EP de slacker punk nono « one take pas d’edit » en compagnie de Samuel Gougoux (Victime, Corridor) à la batterie. Le projet est par la suite tombé en dormance puisque Jean-Michel Letendre-Veilleux (Beat Sexü, Anatole, Le Pantoum) et Laurence Gauthier-Brown (Victime) étaient pas pire occupés avec les susmentionnés projets musicaux et les feux afférents à éteindre. Et puis, pif pouf, ielles se sont choisi.e.s et se sont donné le temps pour façonner et remodeler des pièces plus près de leurs intentions.

Anatole’s spirit quickly takes over theaters, rocking his irresistible synth pop that already heralded the arrival of “New LA” in a debut album titled “L.A./You’re one of us” in March 2016.

And then, poof, they chose themselves and gave themselves time to shape and reshape pieces closer to their intentions.

Figure8 alias Louis-Philippe Parent est un producteur/beatmaker, ingénieur de son et DJ œuvrant sur la scène musicale depuis près de 20 ans. Il se fait d’abord connaître au sein du trio Omnikrom. Rapidement remarqué avec leur deux premiers EP, c’est avec l’album TROP BANANE qu’ils se mériteront le Félix de l’année 2007 dans la catégorie Hip-Hop. Figure8 enchaîne alors les tournées avec Omnikrom aux quatre coins du Québec et de l’Europe francophone et accumule les collaborations avec des artistes d’ici et d’ailleurs tels que TTC, Cœur de Pirate, Hugo Mudie, Ariane Moffat et bien d’autres.

Q-052 est un rappeur et activiste mi’gmaq de Gesgapegiag, en Gaspésie. Il a été nominé pour Artiste autochtone de l’année au Gala de l’ADISQ en 2021, au Gala Teweikan 2022 dans les catégories Artiste/groupe de musique d’expression et Artiste/groupe de blues ou rock ainsi qu’au GAMIQ 2022 dans la catégorie Album Hip-Hop.

Voir Sensei H présenter l’album Trop de chance sur scène, c’est franchir la porte d’un univers distinct découlant d’une seule et même intention : créer comme si rien n’existait. Jamais vous n’assisterez à 2 shows de Sensei H identiques, car l’artiste se permet une authenticité et vulnérabilité, tantôt déstabilisante, tantôt inspirante, qui la rapproche instantanément de son public. Trop de chance, c’est cette gratitude à travers la peine et la tristesse, mais aussi la célébration de quelque chose de grand.

Figure8 aka Louis-Philippe Parent is a producer/beatmaker, sound engineer and DJ who has been working on the music scene for almost 20 years. He first became known as part of the Omnikrom trio. Quickly noticed with their first two EPs, it is with the album TROP BANANE that they will win the Félix of the year 2007 in the Hip-Hop category. Figure8 then toured with Omnikrom throughout Quebec and French-speaking Europe and collaborated with artists from here and abroad such as TTC, Coeur de Pirate, Hugo Mudie, Ariane Moffat and many others.

Q-052 is a Mi’gmaq rapper and activist from Gesgapegiag, Gaspé. He has been nominated for Aboriginal Artist of the Year at the 2021 ADISQ Gala, at the 2022 Teweikan Gala in the Expressive Music Artist/Group and Blues/Rock Artist/Group categories, and at the 2022 GAMIQ in the Hip-Hop Album category.

To see Sensei H present the album Trop de chance on stage is to enter a distinct universe stemming from a single intention: to create as if nothing existed. You will never see two identical Sensei H shows, because the artist allows herself an authenticity and vulnerability, sometimes destabilizing, sometimes inspiring, that brings her instantly closer to her audience. Too Lucky is about gratitude through sorrow and sadness, but also the celebration of something great.

Lysandre + Carla Chanelle à Santa Teresa

Très attendu, Sans oublier, premier long jeu de Lysandre, est une série d’offrandes aux personnages féminins phares de sa vie. Obsédée par le concept de mémoire, l’auteure-compositrice-interprète dédie la majorité de ses chansons à ses consoeurs, dont le souvenir a su sauver son rapport nostalgique au monde. L’auteure-compositrice-interprète a préalablement mis la table avec trois extraits remarqués : Tintagel, Le paon impossible et Sans oublier.

Carla Chanelle crée un univers pop alternatif à la fois pétillant et empreint de douceur. Active sur la scène québécoise depuis 2020, la jeune autrice-compositrice-interprète rayonne déjà auprès de nombreuses stations de radio canadiennes et internationales (#1 à divers palmarès, Top 22 SiriusXM, rotations à CBC, Radio-Canada, ainsi qu’à la radio FIP en France).

Lysandre’s long-awaited debut, Sans oublier, is a series of offerings to the leading female figures in her life. Obsessed with the concept of memory, the singer-songwriter dedicates the majority of her songs to her female colleagues, whose memory has saved her nostalgic relationship with the world. The singer-songwriter has already set the table with three remarkable singles: Tintagel, Le paon impossible and Sans oublier.

Carla Chanelle creates an alternative pop universe that is both sparkling and sweet. August Burns Red est un groupe américain de metalcore originaire de Lancaster, en Pennsylvanie, formé en 2003. La formation actuelle du groupe est composée du guitariste principal John Benjamin “JB” Brubaker, du guitariste rythmique Brent Rambler, du batteur Matt Greiner, du chanteur principal Jake Luhrs et du bassiste Dustin Davidson. Le groupe a été nommé aux Grammy Awards en 2016 pour la meilleure performance metal pour la chanson “Identity” de son album de 2015 Found in Far Away Places, et à nouveau en 2018 pour “Invisible Enemy” de Phantom Anthem (2017). Le groupe a publié dix albums studio à ce jour ; leur dernier, Death Below, est sorti le 24 mars 2023.
