The result of an introspective retreat, the songs on Bruits Blanc, Caroline Savoie ‘s 3rd album produced by Joe Grass, were born in the heart of Acadia, in a landscape both generous and austere, in a climate as calm as it is tormented. More personal than ever, they are the very embodiment of her desire for independence and authenticity. Building on a decade of over 500 shows across French-speaking Canada and Europe, Caroline Savoie and her three musicians, Marco Gosselin, Donald O’Brien and Alexi Rioux, return to the stage to present the songs of Bruits blancs.

Résultat d’une retraite introspective, c’est au cœur de l’Acadie, dans ce paysage à la fois généreux et austère, dans ce climat aussi calme que tourmenté, que les chansons de Bruits blanc, 3e album de Caroline Savoie réalisé par Joe Grass, sont nées. Plus personnelles que jamais, elles sont l’incarnation même de son désir d’indépendance et d’authenticité. Forte d’une décennie qui compte plus de 500 spectacles à travers la francophonie canadienne et l’Europe, Caroline Savoie et ses trois musiciens, Marco Gosselin, Donald O’Brien et Alexi Rioux, retrouvent la scène pour présenter les chansons de Bruits blancs.

Zaho de Sagazan at the Club Soda

Zaho de Sagazan has a singular, powerful voice, the kind that makes our hair stand on end. A deep timbre carried by electronic rhythms that blend Berlin techno and French electronica.
Moving from whispers to screams, the 21-year-old artist plays, tells and dissects human failings on lyrics in French of trenchant sincerity. Her words, draped in powerful melodies of subtle melancholy, plunge us into a shared intimacy, where we taste the delicious freedom to dance, think and move.
Alongside her drummer Tom Geffray, Zaho delivers modern Krautpop inspired by the likes of Koudlam and Autumn. Alongside the madness of Catherine Ringer or Brigitte Fontaine, there always comes a moment when she returns to sit with her eyes closed at her piano, the faithful ally of her creations.

Zaho de Sagazan c’est une voix singulière et puissante, de celles qui font dresser nos poils. Un timbre grave porté par des rythmes électroniques qui côtoient la techno berlinoise et l’electronica française.

Passant des murmures aux cris, l’artiste de 21 ans s’amuse, se raconte et dissèque les travers humains sur des textes en français d’une sincérité tranchante. Ses mots, drapés de mélodies puissantes à la mélancolie subtile, nous plongent dans une intimité partagée, où l’on goûte à la délicieuse liberté de danser, de penser et de s’émouvoir.

Au côté de son batteur Tom Geffray, Zaho nous livre une Krautpop moderne inspirée de ceux qui l’ont fait danser tels que Koudlam ou Autumn. Côtoyant la folie de Catherine Ringer ou Brigitte Fontaine vient toujours le moment où elle retourne s’asseoir les yeux fermés à son piano, fidèle allié de ses créations.

Originally from Lévis, Quebec, baritone William Dorais completed a college diploma in music at Cégep de Sainte-Foy with mezzo-sopranos Lysianne Tremblay and Linda Dumont. He had the exceptional good fortune to be guided by pianist/musical and vocal director Claude Soucy, and to receive expert advice from renowned stage director and “leader of today’s opera scene” François Racine. Winner of an Award of Excellence at the 2022 Cégep de Sainte-Foy Musical Expression Prize Gala, William particularly distinguished himself during his college career by winning 1st prize in the “Vocal (18 years old)” category of the Canadian Music Competition. He was awarded McGill University’s prestigious Schulich Scholarship, which enabled him to complete a Bachelor’s degree with renowned Canadian baritone Brett Polegato and pianist/vocal coach Louise Pelletier. In 2023, William won 1st prize in his category at the Concours de La Relève Musicale de Québec, as well as the French melody prize donated by baritone Jean-François Lapointe and the prize awarded by jury president Rachel Martel for best stage presence in the competition’s “Maîtrise” category. The same year, he also won 1st prize in the “Classical Singing” category of the Sherbrooke Music Competition.

Originaire de Lévis, au Québec, le baryton William Dorais a complété un diplôme d’études collégiales en musique au Cégep de Sainte-Foy avec les mezzo-sopranos Lysianne Tremblay et Linda Dumont. Il a eu la chance exceptionnelle d’être guidé par la pianiste/directrice musicale et vocale, Claude Soucy, et de recevoir les conseils avisés du renommé metteur en scène et “chefs de file de la scène lyrique actuelle”, François Racine. Lauréat d’un prix d’excellence à l’issue du gala 2022 du Prix d’expression musicale du Cégep de Sainte-Foy, William s’est particulièrement distingué pendant son parcours collégial en remportant le 1er prix dans la catégorie “Chant (18 ans)” du Concours de musique du Canada. Il est récipiendaire de la prestigieuse Schulich Scholarship de l’Université McGill, qui lui permet de décrocher un baccalauréat avec le célèbre baryton canadien, Brett Polegato, et la pianiste/coach vocal, Louise Pelletier. En 2023, William a remporté le 1er prix de sa catégorie au Concours de La Relève Musicale de Québec, ainsi que le prix de la mélodie française offert par le baryton Jean-François Lapointe et le prix de la présidente du jury, Mme Rachel Martel, pour la meilleure présence scénique dans la catégorie “Maîtrise” du concours. Il remporte également, la même année, le 1er prix de la catégorie “Chant Classique” du Concours de musique de Sherbrooke.
