Festival d’art vocal de Montréal 2024: La Chauve-souris de Strauss & The-Four-Note Opera de Johnson

Une expérience d’opéra immersive en formule cabaret 360° avec la mise en scène et la narration de Lorraine Pintal (Théâtre du Nouveau Monde) et l’Orchestre Classique de Montréal sous la direction de Simon Rivard.
Un effet de mise en abyme sera présent avec l’insertion d’un deuxième opéra dans l’action de La Chauve-Souris : The Four Note Opera, mis en scène par Joshua Major (New England Conservatory of Music) et dirigé par Simon Charette, un opéra absurde “qui se joue des stéréotypes, des doutes et des triomphes des chanteurs”.

Le Salon Richmond est à quelques pas du centre-ville de Montréal :

An immersive opera experience in a 360° cabaret format, with staging and narration by Lorraine Pintal (Théâtre du Nouveau Monde) and the Orchestre Classique de Montréal conducted by Simon Rivard.
A mise en abyme effect will be present with the insertion of a second opera into the action of La Chauve-Souris: The Four Note Opera, directed by Joshua Major (New England Conservatory of Music) and conducted by Simon Charette, an absurd opera “that plays on the stereotypes, doubts and triumphs of the singers”.

Une expérience unique en son genre où de jeunes musiciens talentueux se produisent devant un jury international susceptible de les engager. Cette audition sans équivalent dans le monde offre une opportunité exceptionnelle de perfectionnement et de reconnaissance aux participants de l’Institut canadien d’art vocal.

La Salle Serge-Garant et la Salle Claude-Champagne sont les deux principales salles de concert de la Faculté de musique de l’Université de Montréal : 220, avenue Vincent d’Indy, Outremont.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at an opera audition with the Orchestre de la Francophonie, conducted by Julien Proulx. A unique experience where talented young musicians perform in front of an international jury with the potential to hire them. This unique audition offers an exceptional opportunity for development and recognition to participants in the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute.

La mise en scène est signée Michel Poirier, fidèle collaborateur depuis Pour une histoire d’un soir. 

For 40 years, Marie Denise Pelletier has been moving us with her moving interpretations of the greatest French lyrics. With her new show, Sous ma peau de femme, she shares the secrets of her career through her greatest songs, as well as new creations, accompanied by her musicians. The show is directed by Michel Poirier, a loyal collaborator since Pour une histoire d’un soir.

Les Violons du Roy: Une voix pour Bach

Le formidable jeune contre-ténor anglais Hugh Cutting, nommé « BBC New Generation Artist » en 2022, retrouve le chef fondateur des Violons du Roy, Bernard Labadie. Ils célèbrent les 40 ans de l’orchestre dans un programme comprenant deux des plus belles cantates de Bach pour voix soliste, ainsi que deux concertos grossos de Handel.

The formidable young English countertenor Hugh Cutting, named “BBC New Generation Artist” in 2022, reunites with Les Violons du Roy’s founding conductor, Bernard Labadie. They celebrate the orchestra’s 40th anniversary with a program featuring two of Bach’s finest cantatas for solo voice, plus two Handel concertos grossos.

«True icon of Reggae-Dancehall» (RFI, 2023), Queen Omega draws its energy and humanity from the Rastafari movement. His undeniable stage presence and his incredibly rich voice give him a strong aura as much as his riddims with multiple influences, both New roots, New soul, Afrobeat and Dancehall.”
