Guhn Twei – 20h00

Nouvelle formation métal brutal et hardcore ayant racines dans le quartier tristement célèbre Notre-Dame de Noranda, Guhn Twei est le véhicule du chanteur et bassiste Simon Turcotte. Après une tournée estivale sur les routes de la province, le groupe revient en force à la maison, avec un assaut créateur et sans détour contre le statu quo, celui permettant à une multinationale de cracher ses émanations toxiques en toute impunité. Métalleux, headbangers et punkrockers ne voudront pas manquer cette occasion de se rassembler autour d’un son rentre-dedans et d’une cause qui l’est tout autant!

A brutal, hardcore metal outfit with roots in Noranda’s infamous Notre-Dame district, Guhn Twei is the vehicle of singer and bassist Simon Turcotte. After a summer tour of the province, the band is back home in force, with a creative, no-holds-barred assault on the status quo, one that allows a multinational corporation to spew its toxic fumes with impunity. Metalheads, headbangers and punkrockers won’t want to miss this opportunity to rally around a hard-hitting sound and an equally hard-hitting cause!

B.A.R.F. Quatre petites lettres qui racontent pourtant un immense chapitre de l’histoire de l’underground québécois. Blasting All Rotten Fuckers, groupe punk métal mythique mené par le charismatique Marc Vaillancourt, n’a plus besoin de présentation. Après des décennies à se défoncer sur scène, le groupe a réussi à fédérer une communauté fidèle et crinquée autour de ce projet qui bûche très fort et qui nourrit un esprit de camaraderie et de party total. Conseil du Dr FME : prenez congé demain pendant qu’il est encore temps!

B.A.R.F. Four little letters that tell the story of a huge chapter in the history of the Quebec underground. Blasting All Rotten Fuckers, the legendary punk metal band led by the charismatic Marc Vaillancourt, needs no introduction. After decades of kicking ass on stage, the band has managed to build a loyal, cranked-up community around this hard-drinking project that nurtures a spirit of camaraderie and total party-going. Mononc’Serge et Anonymus – 22h00

Non mais sérieusement, existe-t-il ne serait qu’un seul bougre abitibien qui ignore dans quoi il s’embarque en s’inscrivant à cette damnée Académie? Pour le plus grand bonheur des fans de la première heure, Mononc Serge reprend le collier (de curé) et convoque, 20 ans après le pécher originel, un conventum métal et satirique comme lui seul a le secret. Élevé aux cieux par les puissants et sympathiques élèves d’Anonymus, Mononc peut une fois de plus rugir contre les platitudes, les profiteurs et les bonzes du showbiz made in Québec. Amen!

Seriously, is there even a single Abitibian who doesn’t know what he’s getting into when he signs up for this damned Academy? Much to the delight of long-time fans, Mononc Serge takes up the (curate’s) collar again and, 20 years after the original sin, convenes a metal and satirical conventum like only he has the secret to. Elevated to the heavens by the powerful and sympathetic pupils of Anonymus, Mononc can once again roar against the platitudes, profiteers and bonzes of showbiz made in Quebec. Amen to that!

Ammar 808 – 23h00

Projet électro du réalisateur et multi-instrumentiste Sofyann Ben Youssef, Ammar 808 pave la voie à un trip sonore sans pareil au rythme d’accents du Maghreb et de l’Inde, pays où il a étudié le style hindoustani. D’origine tunisienne, le créateur basé à Bruxelles insuffle sa musique de nappes hypnotisantes et de chants transcendants. Sa démarche d’archéologue des musiques traditionnelles le pousse à trouver la formule parfaite entre les musiques analogiques des civilisations anciennes et la musique électronique contemporaine.

An electro project by producer and multi-instrumentalist Sofyann Ben Youssef, Ammar 808 paves the way for an unparalleled sound trip to the rhythm of accents from the Maghreb and India, where he studied the Hindustani style. Of Tunisian origin, the Brussels-based creator infuses his music with hypnotic strings and transcendent chants. His approach as an archaeologist of traditional music drives him to find the perfect formula between the analog music of ancient civilizations and contemporary electronic music.

Spectacle théâtral et musical mettant en vedette deux marionnettes extraterrestres cherchant à s’enfuir de leur coin de pays interstellaire, voici une proposition absolument WTF! Cette bibitte est le fruit du travail de 3 musiciens canadiens, The Fitness, Lou Roots et GabaGhoul. Derrière leurs platines et leurs séquences, les 2 personnages Mugzy et Maam prennent vie grâce au travail organique de leur marionnettiste. Les 2 personnages d’extraterrestres nous racontent leur quête sur des airs de musique house et techno. Qui aurait dit que vous auriez un jour la chance de clubber avec des marionnettes!

A theatrical and musical show featuring two extraterrestrial puppets seeking to escape from their interstellar homeland, this is an absolutely WTF proposition! It’s the brainchild of 3 Canadian musicians, The Fitness, Lou Roots and GabaGhoul. Behind their turntables and sequences, the 2 characters Mugzy and Maam come to life thanks to the organic work of their puppeteer. The 2 extraterrestrial characters tell us about their quest to the sound of house and techno music. Who’d have thought you’d ever have the chance to club with puppets!

Rip Pop Mutant – 23h00

Post-punk, post-rock, synth-pop, new-wave et cold-wave s’y amalgament dans une proposition musicale inédite et imprévisible. Rip Pop Mutant transporte le spectateur dans une excursion sonore aux chemins abstraits et non-linéaires. Bien connu pour ses performances scéniques hallucinées au sein de We Are Wolves, Alex Ortiz est encore une fois à la hauteur de sa réputation. Sur scène comme sur album, Rip Pop Mutant nous déstabilise toujours au moment où on semble saisir la direction. Exposition Rip Pop Mutant Découvrez ici les œuvres ayant accompagné le processus de création derrière l’album de musique au son épuré, rythmes répétitifs et basses linéaires; cold et new wave, post-punk… et un peu pop! Référant au mouvement artistique Fluxus des années 60 prônant le non-art et relevant plutôt d’un état d’esprit, les créations musicales et visuelles d’Ortiz dissoudent les frontières de médiums artistiques. Lorsqu’en manque d’inspiration pour l’écriture musicale, Ortiz se mettait au pinceau, un support nourrissant le second, et vice-versa. Multi-instrumentiste, Ortiz y garde sa créativité active et vivante en s’abandonnant dans toute forme d’art. Brutes et sans prétention, les œuvres nous témoignent d’un regard intime sur ce qui entoure et influence Ortiz. Ainsi, on retrouve dans ses œuvres visuelles des éléments musicaux, des tons rythmés, des sujets communs tels que ses enfants, les fleurs, la mutation, le tout baignant dans l’univers de Fluxus Pop. Post-punk, post-rock, synth-pop, new-wave and cold-wave come together in an original and unpredictable musical proposition. Rip Pop Mutant takes the audience on a sonic excursion along abstract, non-linear paths. Well-known for his hallucinatory stage performances with We Are Wolves, Alex Ortiz once again lives up to his reputation. On stage as on album, Rip Pop Mutant always destabilizes us just when we seem to grasp the direction. Rip Pop Mutant exhibition Discover the artworks that accompanied the creative process behind the album of music with its clean sound, repetitive rhythms and linear bass; cold and new wave, post-punk… and a little pop! Referring to the Fluxus art movement of the ’60s, which advocated non-art as a state of mind, Ortiz’s musical and visual creations dissolve the boundaries of artistic mediums. When lacking inspiration for musical writing, Ortiz would turn to paintbrushes, one medium feeding the other, and vice versa. As a multi-instrumentalist, Ortiz keeps his creativity active and alive, abandoning himself to all forms of art. Raw and unpretentious, the works bear witness to an intimate view of what surrounds and influences Ortiz. In her visual works, we find musical elements, rhythmic tones and common subjects such as her children, flowers and mutation, all bathed in the world of Fluxus Pop. Annue-Claude Deschênes – 0h00

Annie-Claude Deschênes vit et travaille à Montréal. Artiste visuelle, chanteuse, claviériste et autrice-compositrice-interprète durant plusieurs années au sein des groupes de musique Duchess Says et PYPY, elle entreprend aujourd’hui un nouveau parcours sonore. Chaque prestation musicale devient alors une expérience pluridimensionnelle et immersive, où le public est stimulé tant par le côté sonore que par l’aspect visuel et performatif.

Annie-Claude Deschênes lives and works in Montreal. A visual artist, singer, keyboardist and singer-songwriter for several years with the music groups Duchess Says and PYPY, she is now embarking on a new sonic journey. Each musical performance becomes a multi-dimensional, immersive experience, where the audience is stimulated as much by the sound as by the visual and performative aspects.
