{"id":81699,"date":"2022-10-25T11:10:14","date_gmt":"2022-10-25T15:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/panm360.com\/?post_type=records&#038;p=81699"},"modified":"2022-10-25T11:10:18","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T15:10:18","slug":"jockstrap-i-love-you-jennifer-b","status":"publish","type":"records","link":"https:\/\/panm360.com\/en\/records\/jockstrap-i-love-you-jennifer-b\/","title":{"rendered":"Jockstrap &#8211; I Love You Jennifer B"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fans of the eclectic, ethereal, and elaborate rejoice; <em>I Love You Jennifer B<\/em>, the first full-length LP by Jockstrap<em> <\/em>is here.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comprised of Georgia Ellery (also known as a member of Black Country, New Road) and Taylor Skye, Jockstrap got its start when the duo met at Guildhall School of Music &amp; Drama, a prestigious conservatory program in London, England.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since their debut album <em>Love Is the Key to the City<\/em> (2018, Kaya Kaya Records), Jockstrap\u2019s sound has been characterized by unusual and starkly juxtaposing arrangements of analog and electronic. But with this latest offering, the duo\u2019s iconic mixed-media approach is taken to new heights, to great effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The intro track \u201cNeon\u201d is a great indicator of the album\u2019s adventurous yet listenable experiments. It begins as a rustic (and somewhat sombre) acoustic number but soon breaks out into euphoric, bass-driven electro-pop. By the end of the song, the arrangement\u2019s two sides are married. Fuzzed-out electric guitars soar over a crunchy, distorted beat, all with Ellery\u2019s outstanding, almost raw vocals sitting atop it all.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The album plays with several other moods throughout, such as with upbeat yet dark club-style tracks \u201cJennifer B,\u201d \u201cDebra,\u201d and \u201c50\/50.\u201d It also swings into deeper emotional ballads, such as the phenomenal audio odyssey that is \u201cConcrete Over Water.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I love <em>I Love You Jennifer B<\/em>. The entire project undulates with energy, weirdness, and a raw, exuberant passion that makes it a relentlessly exciting listen. The sonic layers of each track give way to another, like an auditory cocoon unraveling before you. Between Skye\u2019s brilliant beat-writing and production and Ellery\u2019s unpredictable (but satisfying) string and vocal arrangements, you\u2019ll likely be picking out something new every time you put <em>I Love You Jennifer B<\/em> on.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe style=\"border: 0;
