Edmonton’s Dylan Khotin-Foote is one of those young Canadian composers\/producers of the next generation of electronic music who have already captivated the international community, in his case with the release of the album Beautiful You<\/em> in 2018. Its sequel is of course highly anticipated. Finds You Well<\/em> follows in the footsteps of the previous record, and is intended to be a placid oasis in the anxious environment of the pandemic. Khotin has reworked a dozen already conclusive models, giving them more than acceptable qualities. The album was conceived in two parts. The first is based on slow or medium rhythms of downtempo, breakbeat, dub and bass music extraction. Subtly conducted, these grooves are in no way aggressive, weaving very nice backdrops for domestic life in the red zone, at the centre of our existence until further notice. The second is part of an ambient perspective, covered with rich synthetic waves on which float short melodic motifs. The composer inlays several elements to create subtle contrasts with the gentle curves of the narrative weave; crackle, recordings of familiar voices, soft interferences, etc. This is a beautiful tapestry for the ear, silky and reassuring for anyone who knows anything about the styles involved, not to be confused with the great electronic art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
