In fact, I like it even more than what I had previously heard (and enjoyed) in the band&#8217;s first album, <em>Rez-de-chauss\u00e9e<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-pan-m-360 wp-block-embed-pan-m-360\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"TCYgloR7Z8\"><a href=\"https:\/\/panm360.com\/records\/greenhouse-ensemble-rez-de-chaussee-jazz\/\">Greenhouse Ensemble &#8211; Rez-de-chauss\u00e9e<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Greenhouse Ensemble &#8211; Rez-de-chauss\u00e9e&#8221; &#8212; PAN M 360\" src=\"https:\/\/panm360.com\/records\/greenhouse-ensemble-rez-de-chaussee-jazz\/embed\/#?secret=eRSPlnpPoY#?secret=TCYgloR7Z8\" data-secret=\"TCYgloR7Z8\" width=\"500\" height=\"282\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">I was then mentioning the rather cheerful aspect of the proposed contemporary design. One must notice that <em>Mezzanine <\/em>symbolises not only the ascent of a physical floor but also, and above all, a qualitative and artistic one. To the contemporary harmonic language (which could be traced back to Metheny or Mahavishnu) are now added constitutive, architectural elements borrowed from Traditional Keb Music (as in the aptly named <em>Variations on a Turlute<\/em>, or in <em>Reset<\/em>, which merges echoes of Harmonium).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">What a beautiful marriage of cinematic panoramic grandeur, intellectual yet communicative jazz, and diverse references, as I said, drawing from both Trad and Prog Rock. Roxane Reddy&#8217;s ethereal voice is beautiful and soothing, Camille Brousseau&#8217;s violin solos add a touch of lyricism, William Lussier&#8217;s trumpet illuminates the overall product with a lovely light, and all the other musicians blend pleasantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Mezzanine <\/em>is a comprehensive proposal that, it seems to me, reveals a new synthetic vision of various &#8220;highbrow-popular&#8221; crossbred musics from Quebec, Jazz, Trad, and Prog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Greenhouse Ensemble has its gaze resolutely turned upwards.
