Her unique blend of chronically online girly pop lyricism, nostalgia, and tooth-ache-inducing production has been imitated by many in the hyperpop scene but never replicated. I\u2019ve wondered for a long time when Slayyyter would finally release an album that could stand up to her impressive body of 2000s\u2019-nouveau anthemic singles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">I knew <em>WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA<\/em> was bound to be a completely different type of Slayyyter record from the moment I heard the second single, &#8220;CANNABALISM!,&#8221;\u00a0dangerously intimate, sexy, bass-forward and vocally experimental. This song is a complete world unto itself, yet it lives harmoniously in the same universe as dirty electronic, rap-inspired and drug-fuelled<em> <\/em>&#8220;OLD TECHNOLOGY,&#8221; and techno-show girl track &#8220;$T.LOSER.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA <\/em>is a glittering and gutteral romp through what it feels like to a girl in 2026 and it couldn\u2019t have come at a better time. Throughout this album, Slayyyter supplies nasty bars, hedonistic dance aesthetics, deliciously grungey vocal delivery with fuck you experimentation reminescent of Death Grips. &#8220;CRANK&#8221; and &#8220;I&#8217;M ACTUALLY KINDA FAMOUS&#8221;<em> <\/em>are standout tracks in their red-hot intensity in an album that delivers heater after heater without impunity.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">In a meditation on romantic obsession, Slayyyter gives us Lana Del Ray on speed in &#8220;UNKNOWN LOVERZ.&#8221; She also pays homage to other greats of the 2010s with <em>True Romance<\/em>-era Charli XCX flavour on &#8220;OLD FLING$&#8221; and Lorde-inspired elements of her delivery on &#8220;GAS STATION.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The crown jewel of this record comes in the form of its final track, &#8220;BRITTANY MURPHY.&#8221; Slayyyter merges dance synths, addictive auto-tune, and sincere guitar in a contemplation of mortality and fame.
