He has just completed a Master&#8217;s degree at McGill (2023) and <em>Au loin<\/em> (Far away) is his first album. He is accompanied by Yannick Anctil on piano, J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Dallaire on guitar and pedal steel, and Guillaume Picard on drums. Under the supervision of the legendary George Doxas in the studio, Lefebvre and his friends offer jazz in a subdued, modern Scandinavian light, which would fit in well with an ECM project, for example. A few atonal stirrings occasionally shake up the calm, fairly impressionistic general framework, which is itself overlaid by easy, contemplative melodies. Excellent playing of the delicate structures created here, almost poetic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a first opus, <em>Au loin<\/em> hits the nail on the head and suggests a promising future.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 400px; height: 472px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=2864947084\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless><a href=\"https:\/\/guillaumelefebvre.bandcamp.com\/album\/au-loin\">Au loin de Guillaume Lefebvre<\/a><\/iframe>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guillaume Lefebvre is a bassist and double bassist.
