Crafted during the final months of bassist Steve Kille\u2019s life, who passed away in early 2024, the album stands as a testament to the band&#8217;s enduring 25-year legacy and a heartfelt tribute to their late bandmate. <em>\u200b<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Voyager to Voyager <\/em>has an intense live energy to it, recorded in only a few takes during some heavy sessions, to preserve that live off the floor and explosive sound you get from seeing Dead Meadow in the flesh. After not being satisfied with the mixes in 2024, vocalist and guitarist Jason Simon ended up mixing the album himself to make it sound like classic Dead Meadow \u2014 cosmic psych rock. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Opening with \u201cThe Space Between,\u201d the album sets a contemplative tone, exploring themes of cosmic isolation and human connection. There&#8217;s echeos of the the band&#8217;s older work on the debut self-titled and <em>Feathers <\/em>on tracks like \u201cNot The Season\u201d and \u201cThe Unhounded Now\u201d showcase the band&#8217;s signature blend of lush psychedelia and heavy rock, with Kille\u2019s bass lines providing a steady undercurrent to Simon\u2019s evocative, shamanistic guitar work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA Question of Will\u201d and \u201cDead Tree Shake\u201d balance mellow deliberation with bursts of energy. \u201cSmall Acts of Kindness\u201d stands out as a melancholic reflection, resonating with the album\u2019s overarching themes of loss and remembrance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The title track, \u201cVoyager to Voyager,\u201d concludes the album with an eight-minute odyssey that encapsulates the band&#8217;s journey, both musically and personally.
