As on her previous album (<em>Envol\u00e9e<\/em>, 2022), Racicot blossoms in a format that favours rhythm, drive, groove, and momentum, surrounded by electric bass and drums, that&#8217;s it. We salute Guillaume Picard on drums, as much at home in subtlety and finesse, as in more muscular fare, and the impressive Antoine Rochefort on bass. There&#8217;s a touch of Tony Levin&#8217;s DNA about him, with a SOUND that&#8217;s oh so fleshy and bouncy, instilling a generously groovy, Latin-style sway here, a clearly prog attitude there, and metal discharge elsewhere. Occasionally, a soft caressing roundness tempers the emotions with super effectiveness. On top of all that, the piano of the R\u00e9v\u00e9lation jazz Radio-Canada 2022-2023, Racicot, is excitingly talkative, nervous, and energetic, with a few moments of impressionistic tenderness that demonstrate the breadth of the young Quebec artist&#8217;s technical and stylistic abilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ariane Racicot - TEASER &quot;Danser avec le feu&quot;\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eEQhVXoWGAc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Danser avec le feu <\/em>comes out on 21 February, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/cabaretliondor.com\/evenement\/ariane-racicot-danser-avec-le-feu\/\"><strong>official launch at Lion d&#8217;Or on 26 February<\/strong><\/a>.
