Recently picked as Resident Advisor\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/ra-exchange\/ex742-maricas\">Party of the Year<\/a>, MARICAS assembled the finest queer DJ legends for these nine peak-of-the-party tracks, including local Montrealers Maara and Regularfantasy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"> A standout from this compilation is \u201cEl Ritmo &amp; Yo\u201d by Chico Blanco, a track I heard on Soundcloud earlier this year and played on repeat ever since. With laid-back vocals and a powerfully gurgling liquid bassline, this song single-handedly kept my ass shaking all summer long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"> Another highlight is Roza Terenzi\u2019s \u201cFine Gay,\u201d a gently ominous, minor-key reworking of the Opus III techno classic that makes you think, <em>Hmmm\u2026 Is it <\/em>really<em> gonna be a fine day tomorrow?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe style=\"border: 0; width: 400px; height: 439px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=2782394695\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/artwork=small\/transparent=true\/\" seamless><a href=\"https:\/\/maricasrecords.bandcamp.com\/album\/maricas-compilation-vol-2\">MARICAS Compilation Vol.2 by MARICAS Records<\/a><\/iframe>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For me, 2024 was the year of prog house, and this compilation album from the Barcelona-based record label and party collective MARICAS brings all my faves to one spot.
