Not because <em>Quadra<\/em>\nis\nhard to digest, but because after a fierce start, the album deviates\nfrom its trajectory and makes room for experimentation and melody,\nbefore combining the two elements on the final tracks. After a few\nlistens, it\u2019s evident that this progression corresponds to\nSepultura&#8217;s vision when they conceived <em>Quadra<\/em>,\ninitially revisiting the thrash sound of <em>Beneath\nthe Remains<\/em>\n(1989)\nand <em>Arise<\/em>\n(1991)\non the songs \u201cIsolation\u201d, Means to an End\u201d, and \u201cLast Time\u201d.\nThey continue with tribal percussion on \u201cCapital Enslavement\u201d,\n\u201cRaging Void\u201d, and the record\u2019s weakest song, \u201cAli\u201d. Then\ncome the backing vocals on \u201cGuardians of Earth\u201d and the melodies\non the instrumental \u201cThe Pentagram\u201d, which contains a stunning\nguitar solo.&nbsp;<br>\n\ufeff\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nBasically,\nthe lyrics on the album are inspired by the term \u201cquadra\u201d\n(\u201cplaying field\u201d, in Portuguese), and deal with the cultural\nrules and differences that impact the way we see the world.
