French-Corsican Philippe Biondi, Jean-Michel Giannelli and Italian Daniele di Bonaventura met in the famous Corsican group A Filetta, particularly renowned for its polyphonic songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No vocals here. Only instruments. You can’t really identify this music with Corsica. Despite the omnipresence of the bandoneon, it’s not tango.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what is Trio Metamaorphosis? Cinematic music, a kind of ambient cruise in the Mediterranean or somewhere in the South. A mixture of happiness, sadness and meditation. The mix of percussion and bandoneon works very well. There’s a repetitive side to it that doesn’t get in the way. We let ourselves be carried along on the musical journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Philippe Biondi is musical director and composed most of the 11 tracks. There is also a version of Kyrie Eleison, the traditional Christian hymn at a high mass. \u00a0Lord have mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pleasure the three have had in playing together and improvising is contagious. Excellent music for meditation or listening while reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
