Montreal’s post-dance glam-punk, quintet, La S\u00e9curit\u00e9, is back with “Serpent,” a slinking and funky earworm reminiscent of someone like Talking Heads or even the fury of The Gun Club. This tune moves in a motorik fashion with its catchy synth layers, grooving bass guitar, jazzy dead-pan drumming, jangly but harmonic, distorted guitars\u2014courtesy of Laurence-Anne Guitar and Melissa Di Menna\u2014and its laissez-faire vocal style from \u00c9liane Viens-Synnott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s a song to dance the night away with, under the fuzzy influence of a party you had too good <\/em>a time at.
