A native of Bulgaria, Yoanna Prodanova immigrated to Canada with her family, where she lived primarily in Montreal. She trained as a cellist in Montreal, studying notably with Denis Brott. For the past 14 years, she has lived in the United Kingdom, where she founded the Barbican Quartet with fellow students.
