From the 9-year-old Mozart, we are treated to a symphony written during the Dutch leg of his European Grand Tour with his father and sister: Symphony No. 5 in B-flat major, K. 22. From Haydn, the unique Farewell Symphony, which subtly hints to his patron, Prince Esterh\u00e1zy, that the musicians in his orchestra are longing for a break.
