Introduced to music by his trumpeter father, Morricone composed over 500 scores for the cinema, many of them among the most iconic soundtracks in film history. Who hasn&#8217;t heard the iconic theme from <em>The Good, the Bad and the Ugly<\/em>, or the lyrical lines from <em>Once Upon a Time in the West<\/em>, <em>Cinema Paradiso <\/em>or <em>The Mission<\/em>? It was only natural that his work should be featured in this latest installment of the L&#8217;univers symphonique du cin\u00e9made series, with the Orchestre FILMharmonique conducted by Francis Choini\u00e8re.
