The Orchestre symphonique de Laval invites music lovers to discover the music of the New World in the third major concert of its 2023-2024 season. The program, led by dynamic conductor Naomi Woo, recently appointed head of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, will highlight works by two composers &#8211; one Canadian, the other Chinese-Peruvian, as well as Gershwin&#8217;s <em>Rhapsody in Blue<\/em>, with Quebec jazzwoman Lorraine Desmarais as soloist, and Dvo\u0159\u00e1k&#8217;s mythical <em>Symphony n<sup>o<\/sup> 9<\/em>. With just a few days to go before the concert, we caught up with Naomi Woo to discuss the program.
