Originaire du Nigeria, la puissante contralto Eno Williams s\u2019exprime avec tout son h\u00e9ritage afro-urbain et d\u00e9roule \u00e9galement la toile de sa vie londonienne. La d\u00e9gaine n\u2019est pas celle de la soul ou du R&amp;B mais bien d\u2019un femme nig\u00e9riane en fusion avec d\u2019excellents musiciens londoniens de diff\u00e9rentes souches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">Voil\u00e0 un pollinisation crois\u00e9e, on ne peut plus londonienne! Il y a dans tout \u00e7a l\u2019afrobeat de Fela Kuti, la juju de King Sunny Ad\u00e9, l\u2019afro-pop highlife d\u2019Osibisa, mais aussi le post-punk anglais, la new wave am\u00e9ricaine, les effluves des Talking Heads, le funk de Chic et de Cameo, sans compter ce jazz groove \u00e0 l\u2019africaine ayant eu plus d\u2019impact en Europe qu\u2019en Am\u00e9rique du Nord, on pense entre autres \u00e0 Manu Dibango et Sixun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">Les instrumentistes d\u2019Ibibio sont excellents et m\u00e9ritent tous d\u2019\u00eatre mentionn\u00e9s&nbsp;: Alfred Kari Bannerman (guitare), Anselmo Netto (percussions), Jose Joyette (batterie), Derrick McIntyre (basse), Tony Hayden (trombone, synth\u00e9), Scott Baylis (trompette, synth\u00e9), et Max Grunhard (saxophone, synth\u00e9). La culture \u00e9lectronique de ces musiciens est compl\u00e9mentaire \u00e0 leurs qualit\u00e9s d\u2019instrumentistes tr\u00e8s influenc\u00e9s par les ann\u00e9es 80 et 90.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">La p\u00e9dale au fond d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part, la soliste et ses sidemen ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s professionnels en faisant fi de la maigre assistance venue \u00e0 leur rencontre. \u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9vidence, Ibibio Sound Machine n\u2019a pas encore conquis le march\u00e9 qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois, tout reste \u00e0 faire.
