I signed up for the Music Publishing Masterclass hosted by Sheer Publishing, a publishing company based in South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/panm360.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/E3B97D0A-4BDF-4D00-8AF3-64443850AA4B-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137620\" style=\"width:404px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">This activity was facilitated by an artist who needs no introduction in Senegal or internationally, Nix, who was both a translator from English to French and vice versa but also acted as a speaker given his expertise in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/panm360.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/AD0149D7-99D0-495B-A845-9D9942B1622C.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137626\" style=\"width:382px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">After an introduction to the fundamentals of publishing, Sheer Publishing covered topics surrounding copyright, ways to generate income from our music, and how to protect it. I learned a lot from this masterclass, but I especially realized that I didn&#8217;t know much about the publishing world. Unfortunately, I wasn&#8217;t able to attend the second day of the masterclass, which lasted two days, but I plan to do my homework after this rich learning experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">In the evening, it was time to head to the Blaise Senghor Cultural Centre for the finale of the Unplugged sessions, which are also part of the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">Several groups performed in front of a jury of five people, including the festival&#8217;s founder, Sahad Sarr, Saphia Arhzaf, and also Elkin Robinson, the Colombian artist I told you about here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/panm360.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/COD080525-8-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137638\" style=\"width:511px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/panm360.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/COD080525-8-scaled.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/panm360.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/COD080525-8-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/panm360.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/COD080525-8-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/panm360.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/COD080525-8-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px\">My favorite of the finalists was undoubtedly the artist whose name I don&#8217;t remember, but who played guitar with her father.
