Il a huit albums solo \u00e0 son actif, le premier Caminho qui a re\u00e7u une nomination F\u00e9lix (1994), Mystic Infancy r\u00e9cipiendaire du prix Opus pour le meilleur disque de Jazz 98 Puzzle City lui aussi r\u00e9cipiendaire du prix Opus pour le meilleur album de jazz 1999 a re\u00e7u une nomination au Juno. Mother tree (2002) a re\u00e7u une nomination pour un Juno et un F\u00e9lix et a gagn\u00e9 un Opus. R\u00e9cipiendaire du prix SOCAN pour la meilleure composition jazz en 1998. Villa-Lobos &amp; Jobim (2006) a re\u00e7u 2 nominations \u00e0 l\u2019Adisq pour le meilleur disque de jazz dans la cat\u00e9gorie interpr\u00e9tation et meilleur arrangeur. Infinito (2010) a re\u00e7u une nomination pour un F\u00e9lix dans la cat\u00e9gorie jazz cr\u00e9ation. Son dernier album Quattro Venti a re\u00e7u une nomination F\u00e9lix dans la cat\u00e9gorie album jazz de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2017. Son nouvel Rio Minas a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 en avril 2020 a re\u00e7u une nomination pour un F\u00e9lix et un prix Opus. Zanella est le r\u00e9cipiendaire du Prix Oscar Peterson 2011 remis par le Festival de Jazz de Montr\u00e9al pour sa contribution sur la sc\u00e8ne de jazz canadienne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A saxophonist, composer and arranger, Jean-Pierre Zanella is very much in demand on Quebec\u2019s music scene. He got his Master\u2019s degree in Jazz at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY in 1982. Zanella has developed strong ties and also recorded with Brazilian artists such as Marcos Valle, Altay Veloso, Boca Livre and pianist Marcos Ariel. He has received the honorific Ordem do Rio Branco bestowed by the Brazilian government, and recorded with several instrumentalists from Canada and the US. He has eight solo albums to his credit: Caminho, nominated for a F\u00e9lix (1994); Mystic Infancy, which received the Opus Award for best jazz album in 1998; Puzzle City, which also won the Opus Award for best jazz album in 1999 in addition to being a Juno nominee; Mother Tree (2002) was also nominated for a Juno and a F\u00e9lix and won a Opus; 2006 release Villa-Lobos &amp; Jobim was nominated twice as best jazz album, in the Interpretation and Best Arranger categories; and Infinito (2010) was nominated for a F\u00e9lix in the jazz creation category.
