Pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 dans le cadre des c\u00e9l\u00e9brations du centenaire de Jean Paul Riopelle<\/strong> et de Montr\u00e9al en lumi\u00e8re<\/strong>, le spectacle multim\u00e9dia Riopelle symphonique<\/em> <\/strong>invite le public \u00e0 plonger au c\u0153ur de l\u2019\u0153uvre de l\u2019artiste, au rythme d\u2019une cr\u00e9ation musicale sign\u00e9e Serge Fiori<\/strong> et Blair Thomson<\/strong>, interpr\u00e9t\u00e9e par l\u2019Orchestre symphonique de Montr\u00e9al<\/strong>, sous la direction d\u2019Adam Johnson<\/strong>, et les Ch\u0153urs <\/strong>des Petits Chanteurs de Laval<\/strong> dirig\u00e9s par Philippe Ostiguy<\/strong> et le ch\u0153ur Temps Fort<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conjuguant projections et sc\u00e9nographie audacieuse, le spectacle en cinq actes \u00e9voque les grandes p\u00e9riodes de la vie de l\u2019artiste et de sa fructueuse carri\u00e8re \u00e9chelonn\u00e9e sur sept d\u00e9cennies. Symbole de libert\u00e9 et infatigable oiseau migrateur, l\u2019embl\u00e9matique oie sauvage guide le public \u00e0 travers les lieux r\u00e9els et imaginaires fr\u00e9quent\u00e9s par Riopelle, t\u00e9moin privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 de son geste cr\u00e9ateur et de son in\u00e9puisable capacit\u00e9 de se r\u00e9inventer. La direction artistique est sign\u00e9e par Nicolas Lemieux<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the celebrations to mark the 100th<\/sup> anniversary of Jean Paul Riopelle\u2019s birth, Riopelle symphonique takes audiences on a stunning multimedia odyssey through the artist\u2019s works and inspirations. Set to the original music of Serge Fiori and Blair Thomson, the concert features the Orchestre symphonique de Montr\u00e9al, the Ch\u0153ur des Petits Chanteurs de Laval and the Temps Fort choir under conductor Adam Johnson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riopelle symphonique combines original musical composition with discovery as we revisit the works that marked the artist\u2019s illustrious career. Together, the musical creation and visual environments evoke key periods in the artist\u2019s life, from his early experimentations in Montr\u00e9al to the closing chapter of his career\u2014a time marked by his return to \u2018the source\u2019 (Isle-aux-Grues)\u2014by way of post-war France, his encounters with Indigenous peoples and his deep connection with the Far North.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visual concept and staging are by Marcella Grimaux (Noisy Head) under artistic director Nicolas Lemieux. An ingenious assembly of LED screens, whose varied sizes and configurations nod to the diverse formats of the master\u2019s paintings, lets audiences both witness and be part of Riopelle\u2019s creative gestures and inexhaustible capacity for reinvention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
