Lydia Lunch, born June 2, 1959 in Rochester, is an American singer, poet, writer, and actress. Her musical career began as part of the band Teenage Jesus and the Jerks on Brian Eno’s 1977 anthology album No New York, considered the founding act of the no wave movement. She is the muse of the New York Underground and no wave movement, author of more than thirty albums, she also recorded with Sonic Youth and Nick Cave, published in collaboration with Exene Cervenka the album Rude Hieroglyphics and collaborates with Rowland S. Howard. Actress of the underground cinema, she participated in many films. Artist of the underground movement, Lydia leads a career made of numerous collaborations.
