N\u00e9s \u00e0 New Brunswick, NJ, au milieu d’un renouveau de la culture DIY, ils semblaient en d\u00e9calage avec le hardcore traditionnel de leurs pairs. Privil\u00e9giant les rythmes post-punk d\u00e9chiquet\u00e9s aux breakdowns m\u00e9talliques et citant Neil Young et le po\u00e8te post-moderne Michael Palmer plut\u00f4t que Henry Rollins et Noam Chomsky, le groupe a toujours sembl\u00e9 en d\u00e9saccord avec l’\u00e9tiquette maladroitement appliqu\u00e9e de “pionniers du post-hardcore”. Avec ce point de d\u00e9part, ils se sont lanc\u00e9s dans une qu\u00eate effr\u00e9n\u00e9e pour trouver leur place dans le monde : ils ont tourn\u00e9 avec tout le monde, des Cure \u00e0 Cursive, en \u00e9largissant et en affinant sans cesse leur vocabulaire musical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the last thirteen years, Thursday has been in a constant state of transition. Rising from New Brunswick, NJ, in the midst of a DIY basement culture revival, they seemed out of step with the traditional hardcore of their peers. Favoring jagged post-punk rhythms over metallic breakdowns and quoting from Neil Young and post-modern poet, Michael Palmer, instead of Henry Rollins and Noam Chomsky, the band always seemed at odds with the awkwardly applied label of “post-hardcore pioneers”. With this starting point, they set out wildly to find their place in the world: touring with everyone from the Cure to Cursive, continually expanding and refining their musical vocabulary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
