Le Giovany Arteaga Quintet nous fait vivre l\u2019exp\u00e9rience du JAZZ AFRO LATIN. Le quintet fusionne des rythmes afro-cubains, de jazz contemporain et de bon vieux R&B\/Soul de toutes les Am\u00e9riques et de leur diaspora.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Giovany Arteaga, n\u00e9 \u00e0 Cuba en 1977, grandit dans une atmosph\u00e8re musicale, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son p\u00e8re, fl\u00fbtiste professionnel qui l\u2019emm\u00e8ne avec lui dans ses concerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c0 19 ans, sa carri\u00e8re professionnelle commence dans le groupe de Xiomara Laugart puis avec Omara Portuondo (Buena Vista Social Club). \u00c0 20 ans, il d\u00e9cide de s\u2019installer \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al pour poursuivre ses \u00e9tudes et sa carri\u00e8re, et tout lui r\u00e9ussit encore une fois. Apr\u00e8s quelques ann\u00e9es, il d\u00e9croche son dipl\u00f4me d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation jazz de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al et, en parall\u00e8le, d\u00e9veloppe sa carri\u00e8re musicale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il collabore ainsi aux tourn\u00e9es et aux enregistrements de Jane Bunnett, Xiomara Laugert, The Cuban All-Stars, Telmary, Florence K, Nathalie Choquette, Dubmatique, Corneille, parmi d\u2019autres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dix ans apr\u00e8s son arriv\u00e9e sur le sol qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois, fort de ces multiples exp\u00e9riences, Giovany Arteaga d\u00e9cide de cr\u00e9er son propre groupe, The Cuban Connexion, groupe de musique \u00e0 la saveur cubaine agr\u00e9ment\u00e9 de jazz, de funk et de rythmes africains. Il cr\u00e9e \u00e9galement le quatuor jazz G4CE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa ma\u00eetrise du saxophone, \u00e0 sa capacit\u00e9 d\u2019improvisation et \u00e0 son charisme, Giovany s\u2019est construit une place bien \u00e0 lui dans le monde de la musique latine de Montr\u00e9al. Il prend part r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 des festivals au Canada et \u00e0 Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Giovany Arteaga Quintet brings us the AFRO LATIN JAZZ experience. The quintet fuses Afro-Cuban rhythms, contemporary jazz and good old R&B\/Soul from all over the Americas and their diaspora.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Giovany Arteaga, born in Cuba in 1977, grew up in a musical atmosphere, thanks to his father, a professional flutist who took him with him to his concerts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the age of 19, his professional career began in Xiomara Laugart\u2019s group and later with Omara Portuondo (Buena Vista Social Club). At the age of 20, he decided to move to Montreal to continue his studies and his career, and everything worked out for him once again. After a few years, he obtained a degree in jazz performance from the University of Montreal and, in parallel, developed his musical career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He collaborated on tours and recordings with Jane Bunnett, Xiomara Laugert, The Cuban All-Stars, Telmary, Florence K, Nathalie Choquette, Dubmatique, Corneille, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten years after his arrival in Quebec, Giovany Arteaga decided to create his own group, The Cuban Connexion, a group of Cuban music with jazz, funk and African rhythms. He also created the jazz quartet G4CE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to his mastery of the saxophone, his ability to improvise and his charisma, Giovany has built a place for himself in the world of Latin music in Montreal. He regularly participates in festivals in Canada and Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
