Originaire de Marieville, Thierry Larose marque son adolescence de la pop lo-fi am\u00e9ricaine et de la chanson indie qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise des ann\u00e9es 2000, et arrive \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al pendant l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 2018, d\u00e9but vingtaine, avec la seule intention de prendre une sabbatique d\u2019\u00e9tudes en litt\u00e9rature pour se concentrer int\u00e9gralement \u00e0 la musique. En quelques mois, il rassemble des musiciens, entre en studio pour enregistrer 4 pi\u00e8ces et est retenu pour le concours-vitrine Les Francouvertes. Puis les \u00e9clats se relaient : Safia Nolin l\u2019invite \u00e0 assurer quelques-unes de ses premi\u00e8res parties, il est invit\u00e9 \u00e0 jouer \u00e0 Pop Montr\u00e9al, Santa Teresa et St-Roch XP sans vraiment avoir de musique en ligne, il fait para\u00eetre un maxi de 2 pi\u00e8ces, les soeurs Boulay l\u2019invitent aussi \u00e0 ouvrir quelques dates pour elles et, en octobre 2019, il entre en studio pour \u00e9laborer un premier album. Rock vectoriel et scintillant, indie pop d\u2019une jeunesse flottante, chanson aussi belle que perm\u00e9able, et des textes aux narrations subtilement gliss\u00e9es derri\u00e8re des images dont l\u2019ironie d\u00e9tach\u00e9e laisse deviner les propos appliqu\u00e9s. Il pr\u00e9sentera bien vite \u00abLes amants de Pomp\u00e9i\u00bb comme premier gage, son album Cantalou <\/em>a suivi au printemps 2021, et il ne souhaite humblement qu\u2019une chose : qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9coute, on ressente ce qu\u2019il a pu ressentir, la premi\u00e8re fois qu\u2019il a regard\u00e9 Before Sunrise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in Marieville, Thierry Larose set his teenage years to a soundtrack of lo-fi American pop and Quebec indie singer-songwriter records from the 2000s. In the summer of 2018, in his early twenties, he moved to Montreal with the intent of taking a sabbatical from his English literature studies to focus solely on music. In just a few months, he put together a band, entered the studio to record four songs, and was selected to perform at the showcase competition Les Francouvertes. It all took off from there: he was approached by Grosse Bo\u00eete, was invited to open for Safia Nolin and Les s\u0153urs Boulay on several dates, landed gigs at Pop Montr\u00e9al, Santa Teresa and St-Roch XP without really having any music online, released a two-song EP, and in October 2019, went back in the studio to begin working on a debut album. Glittering rock, free-flowing, youthful indie pop, beautiful and sensitive songwriting, and lyrics that deliver poignant messages through subtle narration, imagery, and irony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2021, following the release of \u201cLes amants de Pomp\u00e9i\u2019\u2019, the album Cantalou<\/em> was created. Humbly, Thierry has only one hope for the album: that upon listening to it, people can feel what he felt the first time he watched Before Sunrise<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
