Lasso Sanou was born into a family of griots in a small village of northern Burkina Faso, West Africa. He grew up in an environment where music and songs were central to people’s lives. Thus, he soon discovered his ability to sing and play several traditional African instruments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He first learned percussion (balafon, tamani, djembe, Peul flute) and later the kamb\u00e9l\u00e9 n’goni. Thanks to his famous cousin Dramane Demb\u00e9l\u00e9, Lasso discovered the Peul flute in 2004, then developed a real passion for this instrument. He quickly became one of the most talented flutists in the country. After playing for several years in Burkina Faso, Lasso arrived in Qu\u00e9bec in 2009, then became a mainstay of the music scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lasso creates his own style called FRAMM (Fusion Reggae Afro Mandingue M\u00e9tiss\u00e9<\/em>), music that heals and unites. The group performs in solo, trio, and full six-piece lineups.
