Les Hay Babies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les Hay Babies, c\u2019est d\u2019abord des amies : le fun passe avant le travail, pis le travail se fait dans le fun. Acadiennes d\u2019origine n\u00e9o-brunswickoise, Julie Aub\u00e9, Katrine No\u00ebl et Vivianne Roy avancent leur folk-rock pluriel et p\u00e9tillant depuis plus d\u2019une d\u00e9cennie, renouvelant leur proposition musicale \u00e0 chaque parution. D\u00e9couvertes via l\u2019EP indie-folk \/ country Folio en 2012, elles rappliquent deux ans plus tard avec Mon homesickheart en 2014, un premier album aux sonorit\u00e9s folk-rock contemporaines. Le rock 60s \/ 70s et les ballades 80s de La 4i\u00e8me dimension (version longue) suivent en 2016, puis la pop \/ disco 70s de Bo\u00eete aux lettres en 2020. Le quatri\u00e8me album, Tintamarre, celui-ci inspir\u00e9 du roots rock des jukeboxes louisianais, est paru en octobre 2024. Changements de cap toujours, donc \u2013 ce qui fait autant la marque du groupe que son entrain ind\u00e9fectible et son int\u00e9r\u00eat pour l\u2019actualisation des sons pass\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les Hay Babies are friends first: fun comes before work and work is done while having fun. New Brunswick-born Acadians Julie Aub\u00e9, Katrine No\u00ebl and Vivianne Roy have been bringing forth their sparkling, multifaceted folk-rock for over a decade, renewing their musical proposition with each new release. Since forming a band in 2011, they have launched their EP Folio (2012) and the albums* Mon homesick heart* (2014), La 4i\u00e8me dimension (version longue) (2016), and Bo\u00eete aux lettres (2020), shifting from indie-folk and country to classic rock and disco. They once again reinvented their sound with their fourth album, Tintamarre: a trademark of theirs as much as their unwavering drive and interest in actualizing sounds from past decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chad Van Gaalen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Je suis un artiste qui vit et travaille \u00e0 Calgary \/ Mohkinstsis. Je cr\u00e9e des \u0153uvres sculpturales cin\u00e9tiques ainsi que de la musique. Le projet musical sur lequel je me concentre actuellement s\u2019appelle Full Moon Bummer. C\u2019est de la musique folk \/ rock. Je joue cette musique avec Ryan Bourne et Chris Dadge. Ce sont deux amis tr\u00e8s proches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am an artist living and working in Calgary\/mohkinstsis I make kinetic sculptural works as well as music. the musical project I am focusing on right now is Full Moon Bummer. it is folk\/rock music. I play this music with Ryan Bourne and Chris Dadge. they are both close friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah Julia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La musique de Sarah Julia est un exercice de tendresse, empreinte de sororit\u00e9 et marqu\u00e9e par une vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 poignante. Leur folk indie profond\u00e9ment introspectif puise ses racines dans une enfance partag\u00e9e : le fruit de souvenirs entrem\u00eal\u00e9s et d\u2019une bande-son formatrice collective qui se manifeste dans leurs voix pures, enlac\u00e9es avec harmonie, abordant avec d\u00e9licatesse l\u2019amour, le chagrin et la famille. D\u00e8s leur plus jeune \u00e2ge, elles ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une passion commune pour la musique, s\u2019\u00e9changeant des recommandations d\u2019albums, notamment de Bon Iver et Ben Howard, pour compl\u00e9ter l\u2019univers de Cat Stevens et Jim Croce qui les avait berc\u00e9es durant leur enfance. Elles ont ensuite chacune commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 composer. Mais c\u2019est suite \u00e0 un bouleversement familial qu\u2019elles ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 unir leurs efforts, cherchant une catharsis commune dans l\u2019\u00e9criture de chansons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah Julia\u2019s music is an exercise in tenderness, bound by sisterhood and defined by a haunting, piercing vulnerability. Their deeply introspective brand of indie folk is forged from a shared childhood: the product of overlapping memories and a communal formative soundtrack that presents itself in the pure vocals that cradle each other in harmony as they delicately address love, heartache and family. From a young age, they developed a shared love of music \u2013 trading album recommendations for the likes of Bon Iver and Ben Howard to expand on the Cat Stevens and Jim Croce their parents raised them on \u2013 before they individually began dabbling in making music themselves. But it wasn\u2019t until a significant change in their family occurred that they began intertwin<\/p>\n\n\n\n
