Entre la chanson sophistiqu\u00e9e de Cohen, Jacques Brel et F\u00e9lix Leclerc, le folk rustique de Dylan, Neil Young et Richard Desjardins, la pop acoustique de Simon & Garfunkel et la m\u00e9lancolie fantomatique de Nick Drake et Elliott Smith, il y a Philippe B, qui nous rappelle toute la profondeur de ce qu\u2019on peut transmettre avec rien de plus qu\u2019une guitare et quelques mots. C\u2019est sur Cigale, septi\u00e8me album paru le 13 mars 2026, qu\u2019on le retrouve \u00e0 son plus brut et personnel; inspir\u00e9 par sa jeunesse, Philippe y illustre la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 d\u2019un musicien en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re qui tente tant bien que mal de gagner sa vie. \u00c7a fait maintenant plus de 20 ans que Philippe B nourrit le Qu\u00e9bec de ses pr\u00e9cieuses chansons. Reconnu comme l\u2019un de nos plus brillants auteurs-compositeurs-interpr\u00e8tes, l\u2019artiste originaire de Rouyn-Noranda touche par la beaut\u00e9 de ses m\u00e9lodies, la finesse de ses arrangements et l\u2019intimit\u00e9 d\u00e9sarmante de ses textes. S\u2019il est pass\u00e9 ma\u00eetre dans l\u2019art de l\u2019autofiction, Philippe B n\u2019est pas pour autant un po\u00e8te herm\u00e9tique; la simplicit\u00e9 et la pr\u00e9cision avec laquelle il r\u00e9ussit \u00e0 nous faire voir l\u2019universel au travers d\u2019exp\u00e9riences pourtant sp\u00e9cifiques transforme ses chansons en miroirs, au travers desquels on finit toujours par apercevoir une partie de soi. Qu\u2019il soit question de relations amoureuses, du passage du temps ou de son Abitibi natale, le sujet est toujours port\u00e9 par une plume \u00e9mouvante et imag\u00e9e. Suite \u00e0 deux premiers albums sur lesquels il d\u00e9veloppe son identit\u00e9 d\u2019auteur-compositeur-interpr\u00e8te au cours des ann\u00e9es 2000, sa carri\u00e8re solo atteint un niveau sup\u00e9rieur avec la sortie de Variations fant\u00f4mes en 2011.
