Entre les fragments d\u2019anecdotes et les proses d\u00e9cha\u00een\u00e9es, ses chansons tarissent les c\u0153urs en peine et enflamment l\u2019\u00e9chine de ceux qui la portent courb\u00e9s. Built on foundations of early-2000s emo and post-hardcore influences, Olivier Faubert\u2019s debut Pour ne pas mourir en hiver is made of both shadow and light, like November. Between fragments of anecdotes and unleashed prose, his songs dry the tears of aching hearts and set fire to the spines of those who carry them bent. With eclectic arrangements, they at times evoke southern contemporaries like Alvvays or The War On Drugs, and often the still-living immortals from much closer to home, Daniel B\u00e9langer, Karkwa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Montr\u00e9alaise n\u00e9e \u00e0 Paris au milieu des ann\u00e9es\u00a01990, tha\u00efs est autrice, compositrice, interpr\u00e8te, et surtout r\u00e9alisatrice et productrice (un profil encore trop rare au Qu\u00e9bec). Elle fa\u00e7onne tout de son \u0153uvre. Introvertie de nature, sa musique lui est affranchisseuse, autonomisante\u00a0: elle avance une pop \u00e9lectro feutr\u00e9e et pulsatile, d\u00e9licate et rythm\u00e9e, men\u00e9e par sa voix agile. Sur\u00a0Personne, sa derni\u00e8re parution int\u00e9grant des collaborations, sa pop se fait encore plus dynamique et d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e\u00a0; comme l\u2019\u00e9vocation d\u2019un club de nuit o\u00f9 des personnes introspectives se rassembleraient dans une m\u00eame bulle pour, encourag\u00e9es, se fondre dans la foule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in Paris in the mid-1990s and now based in Montreal, tha\u00efs is a songwriter, composer, performer\u2014and above all, a producer and director (a profile still all too rare in Quebec). She shapes every aspect of her work. Introverted by nature, music is her liberator, her source of autonomy: she puts forward an electro-pop that is hushed yet pulsating, delicate yet rhythmic, carried by her agile voice. On Personne, her latest release featuring collaborations, her pop becomes even more dynamic and expansive\u2014like the evocation of a nightclub where introspective people might gather in the same bubble, encouraged to melt into the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
