DAM, qui signifie \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9ternel\u00a0\u00bb en arabe, est le premier groupe de hip-hop palestinien et l\u2019un des premiers \u00e0 rapper en arabe. Form\u00e9 \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1990, Tamer Nafar, Suhell Nafar et Mahmood Jrere ont voulu raconter leur histoire \u00e0 travers les rythmes du hip-hop. Le son de DAM est unique. Leur musique est une fusion unique entre l\u2019Orient et l\u2019Occident, m\u00ealant un rap arabe f\u00e9roce aux rythmes arabes, aux sonorit\u00e9s et m\u00e9lodies du Moyen-Orient et aux rythmes entra\u00eenants du hip-hop urbain.
DAM est connu pour aborder des questions politiques importantes et des tabous sociaux dans ses chansons. Leur chanson \u00ab\u00a0Min Irhabi\u00a0\u00bb (\u00ab\u00a0Qui est le terroriste\u00a0\u00bb), sortie pendant la seconde Intifada et t\u00e9l\u00e9charg\u00e9e plus d\u2019un million de fois sur Internet peu apr\u00e8s sa sortie (2001), a fait du groupe une figure embl\u00e9matique pour les jeunes du Moyen-Orient. La popularit\u00e9 de DAM reste intacte \u00e0 ce jour. La premi\u00e8re sortie de leur troisi\u00e8me album \u00ab\u00a0BEN HAANA WA MAANA\u00a0\u00bb (2019), Emta Njawzak Yamma (\u00ab\u00a0Quand te marieras-tu\u00a0?\u00a0\u00bb), qui traite des pressions sociales li\u00e9es au mariage, a \u00e9galement connu un succ\u00e8s imm\u00e9diat, atteignant 1,6 million de vues en seulement 6 mois.
DAM s\u2019est form\u00e9 \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1990 lorsque Tamer Nafar, Suhell Nafar et Mahmood Jrere ont eu envie de raconter leur histoire (de Palestiniens vivant en Isra\u00ebl) \u00e0 travers les rythmes du hip-hop. En 2015, le groupe a sorti son premier single \u00ab\u00a0Who You Are\u00a0\u00bb avec Maysa Daw, qui a ensuite rejoint le groupe hip-hop. DAM s\u2019est produit non seulement dans le monde arabe, mais aussi de plus en plus en Europe et aux \u00c9tats-Unis au cours des 15 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DAM, meaning \u201ceverlasting\u201d in Arabic, is the first Palestinian hip hop crew and among the first to rap in Arabic. Their music is a unique fusion of east and west, blending fierceful Arabic rap with Arabic rhythms, Middle Eastern sounds and melodies, and the pulsating beats of urban hiphop.
DAM is known for addressing important political issues and social taboos in their songs. Their song \u201cMin Irhabi\u201d (\u201cWho is the Terrorist\u201d), which was released during the second Intifada and was downloaded over a million times on the internet shortly after its release (2001), made the band a figure of identification for young people in the Middle East. DAM\u2019s popularity remains unbroken to this day. Their first release of their third album \u201cBEN HAANA WA MAANA\u201d (2019), Emta Njawzak Yamma (\u201cWhen will you get married?\u201d), which deals with the social pressures of marriage, also became an instant hit, reaching 1.6 million views in just 6 months.

Real name Yassin Alsalman, he is predominantly recognized as the first Iraqi voice in the Hip-Hop community, earning his chops during the war on his Motherland \u2013 speaking truth to power across the world during the most difficult Era of modern history in Iraq. He is an award winning director, a celebrated University professor and a bookshop owner of MAKTABA in Montreal.
His To Be An (Arab) tour is a multi-media Experience meant to span his discography leading to his present Double album by the same name. The album is only available on vinyl and will be available at the show. Muhoza<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muhoza signifie \u00ab la consolation \u00bb en kinyarwanda, la langue nationale du Rwanda. N\u00e9 \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al d\u2019un p\u00e8re camerounais et d\u2019une m\u00e8re rwandaise, D\u00e9ric Muhoza Eloundou a grandi \u00e0 Ahuntsic dans un milieu pr\u00e9caire. Le rappeur met en lumi\u00e8re cette noirceur dans ses textes pour honorer la force de ceux et celles qui s\u2019y reconnaissent. Ses paroles crues et imag\u00e9es, port\u00e9es par une m\u00e9lodie jazz rap rappelant les ann\u00e9es 90, sont interpr\u00e9t\u00e9es par cinq jeunes musiciens talentueux de la sc\u00e8ne underground de Montr\u00e9al. La majorit\u00e9 d\u2019entre eux se sont rencontr\u00e9s au c\u00e9gep de Saint-Laurent. Actif depuis quatre ans, Muhoza a donn\u00e9 plus d\u2019une vingtaine de spectacles \u00e0 travers le Qu\u00e9bec. Muhoza means \u201cconsolation\u201d in Kinyarwanda, the national language of Rwanda. Born in Montreal to a Cameroonian father and a Rwandan mother, D\u00e9ric Muhoza Eloundou grew up in the neighborhood of Ahuntsic in a precarious environment. The rapper sheds light on this darkness through his lyrics, honoring the strength of those who see themselves in it. His raw and vivid words, carried by a jazz-rap melody reminiscent of the \u201990s, are performed by five talented young musicians from Montreal\u2019s underground scene, most of whom met at C\u00e9gep de Saint-Laurent. Active for four years, Muhoza has played over twenty shows across Quebec. On stage, he\u2019s fearless and eagerly involves the audience in the performance with his crew. His stage presence is both a tribute to difficult times and a promise of hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
